11 Strategies To Completely Redesign Your Item Upgrade

WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for the latter due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. The Best item upgrade used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the Best item upgrade level, however, they are always cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that are used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They can be bought by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with the help of button, which displays an image of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

Item upgraders can be found in many places on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via a variety of means that are both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with several new features added. After a player has earned an upgrade to a certain level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will be less expensive, even when they belong to an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available once certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

Players have a number of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific upgrades to the level of an item upgrade. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that crests are only available for equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.

The use of these currencies isn't that difficult, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose. For instance it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
