The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping, with app-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is impressive. It also self-empties and automatically refills its water tank.
1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba J7+, iRobot's most advanced robot floor cleaner to date is the Roomba J7+. Its biggest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste that the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often go through). It's also the first to automatically send you photos of any object it encounters to let you know to avoid it in the future.
The Combo j7+ is also the best robot vacuum deals robot to mop we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt with ease while leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. It can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't sweep in areas you don’t wish to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can start and stop it with your voice.
Its design is a step above the competition and features a sleek, top piece that looks more like a toy robotic than a loud, obnoxious one. And the Clean Base automatic vacuum cleaner Dirt Disposal System self-empties, which is great for reducing your cleanup time.
In our tests, the j7+ was quick to remove dust dirt, pet hair and other particles. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in its place instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able to collect small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a little grit. Most robots could not achieve this feat. And it did all this without getting caught in our pet's hair shed.
Although it's not as efficient as the Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum, which isn't able to clean stairs, the J7+ is an excellent choice for those who need mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
Although the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that work with robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates, and sometimes it's difficult to tell if the update is actually working until you see it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum cleaner that does more than simply clean your floors A hybrid is the ideal choice. These bots are equipped with a tank of water so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. They also have a range of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance and even the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they can be expensive when purchased at full retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.
Roborock makes several of our top robotic vacuums and the Q5+ does not perform to the standards. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and while it lacks some of the premium features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great choice if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is notably gentle around obstacles such as tables and walls, which makes it an excellent choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is excellent as well, with only a few missed corners and along walls.
Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled with a handful of buttons on the device or via the Roborock app. With the app you can start and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and modify your home map or change the labeling of rooms.
If you decide to go with the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make the robot simple to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once in place it can be accomplished with relative ease. It has a large LCD screen that is very useful when setting up schedules and altering settings. This isn't a necessity for the majority of people but it can assist you in keeping the track of the maintenance intervals for your robot effortlessly.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design and features are some of the top available however, it's also expensive.
The base station looks nice and hides it when not in use, and the dimensions are quite small. The station's main selling point is that it can automate many tasks, functions and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot clean and charged.
Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's the only robovac that I've tested that does a good job picking up dirt from floors that aren't. And it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially in the area of navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robovacs. This means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas of the house. It can't climb stairs as well as competitors, either and doesn't come with an dock that allows you to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for plush carpets.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent option for those looking for a robot vacuum that does everything.
If you're looking for a way to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are many other options on the market. Many eufy models cost significantly less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers an identical experience on the app with additional features such as the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and a better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors and low and high-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, a Anker company has a proven track record of creating robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on hard and carpet floors, as well as a mopping function for a low cost. It's easy to set it up, just snap on one of the side brushes, turn it on and connect your charging dock. The app walks you through a few steps to connect it to Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. The dock will need to be located close to an outlet that has enough space to move.
The G30 is a tiny device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it will fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. Its design is more modest than other models, sporting sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Clean (which scrubs a space in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to do unscheduled cleaning with voice commands.
The way in which the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from other models. It makes use of an integrated map to draw an image of the unmovable items in its path. It remembers what it has already cleaned and where it cannot access. If it requires a recharge, it will automatically return to its base, and then resumes cleaning where it left off.
The elegant G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is much better built, incurs lower recurring costs, is charged faster and has a similar battery life, while providing superior performance on floors that are unfinished and low-pile carpet. It also comes with a larger dust bin that doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and comes with a set of boundaries to keep it away from certain areas. The G30, on the other hand is more affordable and much easier to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't have to be empty as often and has less difficulty handling bulky products such as cereal.
