Guide To Item Upgrades: The Intermediate Guide To Item Upgrades
Path of Exile item upgrader mod Upgrades
Item upgrades are a common and important way to improve the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes.
In most cases, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is beaten out by Rare-grade gear due to their requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They increase the effectiveness of the item they are connected to. Upgrades to armor can be found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at bonfires. They can also be salvaged using a professional or higher salvage kits to retrieve upgrades from the items.
The amount of damage that a piece of armor or weapon is able to absorb is dependent on the extent of its upgrades. A piece of armor upgraded to the highest upgrade level will boost the damage it absorbs. However, it's important note that this will also increase its weight, causing it to weigh more than before.
There are several different types of armor upgrade available in the game. Each has a different impact. Certain upgrades give armor an extra amount of health points while others make it lighter and more powerful. The type of armor upgrade that an item level upgrade can get is indicated by the name of the upgrade as shown in the table below.
Certain upgrades require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which are indicated by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Certain upgrades also require fees in order to be used. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are updated daily or never expire depending on the upgrade.
The cheapest way to upgrade armor is with Iron Ore, which can be obtained through exploring the surroundings and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant improvements in stats and are definitely worth the investment.
The player must be aware that upgrading a piece up to the maximum upgrade level can boost its defense. However, it can also reduce its agility and speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor past +9. The added defense typically isn't worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players to increase the effectiveness of specific aspects of a weapon. Upgrades can improve the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells do. Some weapons also have special upgrades that improve their innate qualities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and minimizes the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).
The majority of upgrades to weapons require the use of a whetblade, or one of the three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain amount of bosses and monsters.
To upgrade the weapon, equipment set piece or Whetblade you need to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee that is a certain number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars are required to complete it. If you have multiple upgrade materials The cost of upgrading will be lower.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the ways to upgrade your equipment and weapon sets changed a little. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon and equipment by paying a specific amount of Bars. You could continue to do this until you reached a maximum upgrade level for the weapon or equipment, after which the upgrades would reset.
You can still do this however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're much better off going to the stores and buying gear that has low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These will have a better chance of bringing you the most prestigious perks and blessings.
To increase their level quicker, players usually be more inclined to upgrade their weapons. Players should also upgrade the weapons their squadmates utilize to increase their power. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will increase the effectiveness of the weapon when used with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to boost the effectiveness of a skill or provide additional effects in weapons and armor. Jewelry crafting is the process of creating them. You combine a gemstone with a number specific reagents on a jewelry table. The higher the grade of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or by salvaging Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The quality of a jewel can be improved by the Jeweler in stages that vary from Crude to Royal. Depending on the tier of the gem it will give different stat boost when slotted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.
The Jeweler can craft the highest levels of gems apart from the rare and legendary ones, which you must be at certain levels to gain. Jewels can be replaced with another one without damaging the original. You can only replace the jewel only once in a piece of equipment.
Utilizing more jewels in a movement can make it feel more comfortable and is usually done for aesthetic reasons. The jewels can also enhance performance and create an outer layer that is more durable than steel so that repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to the movement.
In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades, the player can also obtain glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs offer a small boost in power and can be traded, but they are not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded by the Jeweler to exchange Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits or aegis can't be exchanged, and can only be recovered by using an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets can be used to provide your hero with a variety of small, but useful benefits. You can find them in the starting area as loot or personal story rewards. They can also be obtained from vendors as well as through the completion of road interactions. They can also be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinkets a player can unlock is the cloak. It grants a small, but valuable boost to movement speed and evasion. The player can then collect rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar fashion similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Every piece of equipment has an upgrade slot that can be either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be placed in any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be changed or upgraded, and is only compatible with specific types of trinkets.
These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active when the hero isn't in combat. This allows the hero to perform better when they are not active and may also help make up for a lack of a strong team or any talent tree slots that would normally be filled with the hero's ideal statistics.
As a general rule trinket upgrades should be a priority BiS (Best item upgrader in Slot) items that you aren't likely to replace in the near future. Then, you should consider any items with desirable statistics that aren't as significant as the iLevel for the item to be upgraded. This is especially true if an item upgrader kit upgrade (try these out) has multiple stats that you wish to upgrade, as it's often better to upgrade a single important stat than two sub-optimal ones.
Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinket to a red trinket at the start of the game. Mid and top players, on the other hand they will select either a pink or green ward, based on the matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's ability to control his map.
In addition to the items listed above, players will also find other trinkets in the form of rewards and trophies throughout the game. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones within the story, like the main quest of a chapter or killing a certain boss. These achievements can be seen by selecting the relevant achievement in the reward tab of the hero menu.
