Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, increasing the base stats of the item or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They provide an attribute benefit, or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, dropped by enemies or as a reward for missions or chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they can be upgraded.

In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to select it and then click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the necessary material or component needed for the upgrade to take place.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be put in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are similar to jewels but provide larger bonuses and cannot be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix to the end of item names. For example the addition of the suffix Glyph could transform the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with a different one, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component the Best item upgrader will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from the previous versions. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item is able to be upgraded as many times before it's "leveled out." The cost for upgrades is increased with each level however the materials required don't increase as much. This lets players focus their efforts on a couple of important items to maximize their impact, instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

Once an item has been completed, it will be capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade item (canvas.instructure.com blog entry) will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it is able to gain affixes which will boost its attributes. The number of affixes available depends on the type of item it is. For example the rare or exclusive weapon with a base that is normal will only have two affixes to choose from, while a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade requires an amount of Flightstones and crests based on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item upgrade fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC grants players the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials but will result in a lower chance of success.

Engineers use a level in order to measure the height of the building with a known point, like an existing benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can significantly increase the strength of an item and damage as well as other attributes. You can do this via the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be used sparingly.

The game lets players recycle upgraded items, and use them to acquire Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items come with an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.

Prior to this, some upgrades were given priority affixes that made them easier to roll. This meant that you'd receive the stats that mattered most to your build more often than other. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be a good or bad thing depending on your needs and wants from your equipment.

Each upgraded item upgrade may also have a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the higher your chance of obtaining an exclusive bonus.

The game also comes with number set that grants a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on a unit. This is an excellent method to add a lot of power to a particular character without spending a lot of money.

Many players opt to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling can provide a much faster route to a more powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and advance in the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be put together in a variety of ways. They can have different dimensions, contain no elements at all or contain just one element. They can be used to organize data or organize information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways such as size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an extensive selection of upgradeable set items. Some are worth upgrading, while some are not. Sets of armor that offer the highest defense value or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in improving stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you have many armor or weapons already.

Set items can be upgraded to include special tools that are suitable for certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to the level of the levels. For instance the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items could enhance their defense, and improve their performance in terms of damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button on the screen for their character. The item will be displayed with its characteristics, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and jewelry offer more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will bring about a significant improvement in their performance. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this as its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
