1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent option for those who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the dust bin when it is full.
Both robots are good in removing dirt and dust particles on hard floors and carpets, and they can easily maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ isn't able to have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots that we test. It may be stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as hardwood and rug.
iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, which includes clearing out any clutter or toys it may come across. You should also keep the dustbin and filters clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically takes the dirt out of the docking station’s external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning where it started. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes about three hours to fully charge.
2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in iRobot's flagship line, and it is equipped with the most recent features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and the most crucial feature of all -- it comes with a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that allows it to create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can direct your robot using the app or voice.
The i7+ is faster and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and move around the room and sweep an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot best home vacuum cleaner app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for most households, but it also fits perfectly next to a coffee table or on a bookshelf where you can move it around like the magic wand.
The V10 is powered by a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy that can provide power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then releases fresh air into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpets to trap large dust and crumbs. It has three suction modes that can be adjusted to the specific task. It is able to swiftly switch between handheld and floor vacuum and vice versa.
The model also comes with docks that charge to 100% in about 3.5 hours and provides an easy access to two attachments as well as an clip for a wand. This is a major improvement over previous Dysons that require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The main issue with the V10 is its limited running time. Its marketing claims that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are a bit misleading as CR's tests show. This is an average, not an exceptional, time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. That's still enough run time to vacuum the majority of a typical-sized home but not long enough to clean every spot (though the second time around usually can be effective). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better on low-pile floor vacuum robot carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have lots of money to invest in a robot. It was able to remove most types of debris and sizes during our testing and often went over the same area multiple times to give an extensive clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach corners and the edges of walls.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models like our Top rated robot vacuum choices and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. This means that it may get stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't as sturdy, and often runs out of battery power before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has less parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower recurring cost, has more advanced automation abilities and can better maneuver itself. It also has a bigger dustbin, and charges more quickly.
The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled using the voice assistant on your smartphone. It also feels more sturdy and has a more powerful motor, and is able to perform better on bare floors and carpets with low pile, while providing a greater variety of automation options.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's not a surprise that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app gives you plenty of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and more. It's easy to comprehend and is user-friendly, which is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86 percent of it. It didn't do very well in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than the other models we tested and could be a deterrent for certain shoppers.
The app lets you access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's area of cleaning. This feature lets you keep track of your pets or children when you're away from home. The dustbin and the filter can be washed for a quick, painless clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an automatic floor cleaners clean station which helps to keep the robot's bin clear and optimizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
In contrast to other robotic vacuums that are specifically designed for hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path and a larger dust bin that can hold 2X more debris than the competition to keep the area clean for the longest time. Additionally, they come with two side sweepers to clean along edges and in corners. The POWERSERIES model also comes with AutoSense, which automatically adjusts the power level based on whether it is picking up dirt on the surface or embedded dirt. The vacuum also comes with an app that lets you to view an interactive map, control functions, and schedules. Additionally, you can track the vacuum's battery status and return it to its dock to charge at the touch of one button. The app allows you to alter the LED lights on the top of the vacuum so that you can discern where it is focusing or if it has gotten stuck.
The app makes it possible to steer the robot manually, if necessary. For example, my living room rug has a darkly colored border that can make it difficult for other robots I've tried. The HRV 425BL however, continued to move across the border without ever registering the cliff. The ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
