10 Things We All Hate About Robot Vacuum Deals
Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
This is your chance to own a robot vacuum. CNET's top-rated models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday with savings of up to 57%..
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot with smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also self-empties and automatically refills its water tank.
1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. Its biggest innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the pet waste that most other robots can't avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to provide you with images of objects that it encounters, so you can instruct the robot to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we have ever tested. It removes dirt and spills easily leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to remote control vacuum cleaner. It can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't sweep in areas that you don't wish to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it with a voice.
The design is also more appealing than the other models. It features a sleek, high-end piece that resembles an toy, not a loud and obnoxious robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt removal It also self-empties which will cut down your cleaning time.
In our tests, we observed that the j7+ was quick to removed dust, dirt, and hair from pets. The counter-rotating rubber brush roll kept the debris in one place instead of scattering it all over the floor. It even was able to catch small gravel and sand, which most other robots aren't able to do. It did this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.
The j7+, while not as smart as the $1,217 Roomba S9and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it can't clean the stairs, it's an option for those who require both mopping and a vacuum. It's not expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic vacuum cleaner commercial cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates and it can be difficult to determine whether they're working until you see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for a automated vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the best choice is probably one that is a hybrid. This kind of robot usually includes a built-in water tank, meaning they can both remote vacuum and mop your house at the same time. They also have a range of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. The downside is that they tend to be expensive at retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.
Roborock makes some of our favorite Robotic Vacuum Cleaner Deals vacuums and the Q5+ does not perform to the standards. This is the cheapest model of their auto-empty line. Although it might not have some of the more expensive features (like no-go zones or multi-story memories), it's still a great choice for those who are willing to compromise to save a few bucks.
The Q5+ is notably gentle around obstacles such as tables and walls and walls, which makes it a great choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough when it comes to getting rid of dust bunnies which is an area where cheaper robot vacuum cleaner black friday vacuums can really fall short. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is superb too, with very little missed corners and along walls.
Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled using the buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, design virtual barriers and no-go areas and modify your home map or change the room's label.
If you select the Q5+ it comes with a brand new auto emptying dock that is designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, but once in place emptying the bin is done with relative ease. It also comes with an impressive LCD display which is great to have when setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't essential for most people but it can help you to keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design and features are some of the best on the market - but it's also pricey.
Its base station looks good and hides it when not in use, and the size is quite compact. The primary selling point of the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions and chores that other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot fully charged and clean.
Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive and efficient, too. It's the only robovac that I've used that has done an excellent job of removing debris from bare floors. And it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
But the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially when it comes to navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, meaning it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It also can't climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock to create a cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent option for those looking for a robot vacuum that does it all.
But if you want to save some money, or just don't care about the limitations of this robotic, there are plenty of other great choices available, including a lot of eufy models priced substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for example is less expensive, but offers more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, that provides the ability to provide a more thorough vacuuming experience on plain floors carpets with low pile and even high-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of making robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpet flooring, and a mopping function for a low cost. It's simple to set up simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch it on, and plug it into the charging dock. The app walks you through several steps to connect to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be placed close to an outlet that has plenty of room to move.
The G30 is a tiny device that measures 2.85 inches in height, meaning it will be tucked away under couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design isn't as ostentatious in comparison to other models. It features a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs the area in a spiral pattern over two minutes), Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.
The most important aspect that sets the G30 apart from its competitors is the way it cleans. It makes use of an integrated map to draw a picture of the immovable items in its path. It can remember the things it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. It then returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning the area it left.
The elegant G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges faster and offers similar battery life, while providing superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with a low pile. It has a larger dust bin that does not require the same amount of emptying. It also has boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't require as frequent emptying and is less prone to suffocating bulky materials like cereal.
