The upgrade of gear can increase its base stats and sometimes enhances its extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by the tiers of gear, their requirements and how many random augmentations are applied.

Reroll Tokens

Survivors can obtain Reroll tokens in a variety of ways, including the Mistery Box and rare drops from skulled creatures. Three types of reroll tokens are available: upgrade rare, legendary and rare. Each upgrade takes an item to a higher quality, with the requirement of a higher-level reroll token in order to make it. Blueprints are envelopes that show up at the beginning of every preparation phase. They are opened using Interact by pressing on them. These stones can also be purchased by players who sign daily contracts.

To upgrade items equipment, the player must first locate the item, then click the "level up button". The menu will appear that shows the item's current status and what it will be after being upgraded, along with the required amount of Growth Stones to achieve this. The number of Growth Stones needed to upgrade the item is determined by its rarity. Rare (blue) rarer weapons will require more than one Growth Stone, while uncommon armor only requires one Growth Stone.

The game will highlight the requirements once you choose the upgrade component to be incorporated into the item. The game will show the requirements required when you select an upgrade component to slot into an item.
