they also have   :bk TATSUMAKI SEMPU KYAKU

Not to mention their basic moves are similer.

By your definition, 75% of charecters are shotos, in fact, by your definition, SEAN isn't a shoto, which, btw, he obviously is.

I'm not trying to overplay this or anything, but it's just silly to consider everyone with those to moves a shoto.

According to your logic half of the Kof cast would be considered shoto (wrong) Spider man(wrong), Cable(unh unh) seth(no)and theres like a million more, get what im saying.

The difference is the way the moves behave and the presence of the tatsu. Sakura for example has the full shoto moveset but none of her moves behave according to the same shoto rules. Megaman has like 4 different projectiles none save for his hp charge move behave like a hadoken and his uppercut . the thought of his uppercut  anti airing anything has me laughing like the rick james episode of dave chappelle.

This argument is stupid, caring about who is and isn't a "Shoto" is stupid. The characters will all behave differently unless they are clearly clones (Such as Ryu and Ken.) Just because they have a projectile and an uppercut doesn't mean they're clones or will play similarly, it actually just makes the game a little more balanced.

OOOOOK ryu and ken are clones? If i remember correctly yeah in the early actual stages of games but as they have come along they have divated from each other in various ways to make hem their own character. they jus share same moves but with tweaks and proximity differences and with some lil extra normal moves differed. oo well maybe they are still copies.
 but as for my other post, i was just punning about that. i kinda meant more along thelines of doing a fireball or a hurricane kick or a rising uppercut not the actual control input to do the moves.  Lawd what has gotten started with the who a and a whats a shoto war. HA!
 as far as i know who is CONSIDERED a shoto in SF universe by capcom fans and office likes:
ryu
ken
sakura
gouken
akuma
dan( slightly but comically snk too)
sagat ( slight cause of fireball and uppercut move)
sean
cyclops ( i guess)
well and anyone who shares their movesets i figure. but to me, my opinion... anyone that has typically same moves to any degree as well as using gi's and trained by or with ryu or ken in ALL essence. Dudley could be the same boat bu only because he has a similiar rising uppercut. thats about it. bu hen again.. who cares, i just enjoy playing regardless a shoto or not.

of course i get it. it was because, that guy seth said that x will not be in the game but x fans will be happy... so i was joking saying that magma dragoon will be in the game and don't remember who said that not another shoto... AND THEN I SAID megaman is another shoto... that's all
