Creation History[edit]
As I started to dwelve into Mugen creating, I decided to beginning finishing work on the various Marvel Mugen characters that had been made but not completed. One of these being a Blanka edited version of Beast by Slotman. Although permission was granted to edit his Beast character in the readme file that was distributed along with the character, once Slotman learned that a member of Infinity was editing his character, he revoked permission.
Having already advertized Beast as a potential character for the Marvel vs. Capcom: Eternity of Heroes project, I decided to forge ahead by starting from scratch, making my own sprites and programming a new version of Beast for Mugen. I avoided Blanka implicaions for this character and focused more on the Beast's scientific side while not ignoring his agility and strength.

Years after his release, I took it upon myself to update all the sprites to add a smart palette. This update will allow him to have his Astonishing X-Men costume as well as his normal blue fur.

Commentary[edit]
I think the version of Beast is an undervalued character in mugen, probably because he followes a different style of play compared to the fireball characters. I also avoided speading him up too much such is found in many Mugen creations these days, although he is swift and can work in a series of combos yet he's not flashy. Even today he's one of my favorite characters to play as.
