The 10 Most Scariest Things About Item Upgrading
Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its stats base or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to a stronger base. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little changes in their stats.
Upgrade components
upgrade item components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus, or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or received from missions and chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain point before they are upgraded.
To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player must select it, and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats as well as the components or materials required for the upgrade.
There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions are jewels that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same benefits as jewels, but cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix to the end of item names. For example adding the suffix Glyph would make a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades for gathering tools when a player swaps one glyph with a different one, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, excluding inscriptions which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade item process is different from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item upgrade is able to be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a select few items and maximize the effect of these items rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.
Once an item has been completed in this way, it is eligible for a new set of upgrade components, as well as a boost in the chance that the upgrade items will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan’s Energy and it resets at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to be given affixes that increase its features. The number of affixes that are available depends on the type of item it is. For instance an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level, and in which slot it is placed in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse the item with a different set or upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials but will result in a lower chance of success.
Engineers will employ a level to compare the height of the building with a known location, such as an existing benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod and then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that the buildings are constructed with a high level of accuracy and security.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing an item's upgrade components. It is a vital aspect of the game and can significantly enhance an item's strength and damage as well as other attributes. It is possible to do this through the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be performed in very rare instances.
Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.
Prior to this, certain upgrades were given priority affixes, which made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you'd be able to get the stats that were important most to your build more often than others. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each stat. This could be good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.
Each upgraded item could have a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are offered over the usual affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher the chance of receiving an exclusive bonus.
The game also comes with number sets that give the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an unit. This is a great method to add lots of power to a specific character without spending an excessive amount of money.
Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment particularly in the beginning stages. This is because rerolling could provide a much faster path to a powerful character, allowing them to reach higher levels and advance in the game more quickly.
Sets
Sets are collections of elements that can be put together in different ways. They can have various sizes, have no elements at all, or contain just one element. They can be used for organizing data or separating information. They also aid in analysing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways, including size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide range of set items that can be upgraded. Some are worth upgrading, others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets with high defense value and set bonuses. However, weapon upgrades often do not boost the quality of the item's stats when in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you have lots of weapons or armor pieces already.
Some set items are upgraded to meet their own unique functions, which can be particularly useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).
Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to par with the different tiers. For instance the Immortal King set has a large level range, between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items can enhance their defense, and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the items required to upgrade it. It will show the item's attributes, along with the required items to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternately, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the requirements for upgrading specific items.
In general, weapons and armor are more valuable when they are updated. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will provide a significant increase in their power. This will also increase the defense value of armor with a newer appearance.
