World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and increase other stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its base stats improve in value. This is the sum of all of its leveled up benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is because of how many perks need to be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.

The level of an item is a popular measurement of power and is visible on all tooltips for items. It also serves to determine a gating condition when waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). The average level of an item can be found on the character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell gear players can evaluate the level of an item. It's an indicator of the damage and quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor is possible using the item's level.

The level of the item level upgrade can be checked by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the full description of the item, as well as its level. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are various theories on how the item level calculation is done. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula which calculates the amount an item upgrader mod's stats are worth. It considers the fact that different perks have different values and sockets have gems that increase the overall value of the item. This could result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzard's real item level.

However, this is not the only factor which determines the ilvl of an item, since the level of the area the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding an additional level to its haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats on a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modification that are in turn increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to an item may increase its stats. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers will be upgraded several times with higher prices.

Affixes are another way to change an item upgrader mod's stats. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes are used to give items additional damage, special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to differentiate them by putting a name on them.

All affixes can be re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount in gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges just like the other rerolling methods.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which of the available stats to be kept on an item when it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However every item will have at least one stat in the range, unless they are an item that is unique or an item that has a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

This is another aspect that can be modified by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. As with the base equipment, it must be done per item, and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the likelihood of locating items as well as the properties generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. It does not, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a possibility to obtain better gear in earlier waves and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs than in later ones, as most players prioritize higher weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading which increases with each level and can be further increased by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons come with an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on their material type) for a further +40 luck or to boost an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that deals damage by five percent. These items can be found in the shop or created with the right ingredients.

Best item upgrade Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that the upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..

The Luck of an item can also affect the success of an upgrade. Every item has an average success rate of 25%, and each item that has Luck increases this chance by five percent.

The upgrade overlays of the item upgrader kit are rendered above items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
