Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting its base stats or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to more robust bases. Items with strong bases, like the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be slotted into weapons, armor, trinkets and tools for gathering, offering an attribute bonus or extra impact when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot, dropped by enemies, or obtained as a reward for missions or chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain level before they are upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the user must select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade stats will be, as well as the necessary material or component needed for the upgrade to take place.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, however they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix to the end of item names. For example the addition of the suffix Glyph will transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs with a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions that can be swapped freely.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant differences from previous versions. Gear is now divided into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before being "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This lets players focus their efforts on a couple of important items to maximize their impact, rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across multiple items.

This allows the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to gain affixes which will enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's class. For instance an uncommon or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade process will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is located in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item does not attain its maximum level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item upgrader mod with another set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower chance of success.

To measure the height of a building engineers use a level to compare the measurement against an established reference point like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This process is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high standard of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can drastically enhance an item's strength or damage, as well as other characteristics. It is possible to do this through the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling is costly and should only be used in the rarest of circumstances.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, and use them to acquire reroll tokens. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item determines the level of filling.

In the past, certain upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd get the stats that mattered most to your build more often than others. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns and the control impaired duration stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This can be a good or bad thing depending on your requirements and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded Best item upgrade can have a unique bonus that increases the item's power by a fixed percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to regular affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher chances of obtaining an exclusive bonus.

The game also includes number sets that give an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an unit. This is a great method to add a lot of power to a character without spending lots of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the beginning of the game. Rerolling can help you gain a stronger character faster, allowing players to advance in the game and achieve higher levels.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be organized in different ways. They can be of different dimensions, have no elements, or contain one element. They can be utilized to organize data or sort information. They can also be useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, such as by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an array of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Armor sets that provide high defense values or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you already have a lot of armor pieces or weapons.

Set items can be upgraded to include unique procs that are useful for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items to parity with the tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower level items can increase their defense and improve their performance when it comes to damage.

To see if an item is worth upgrading, players should click the Upgrade button in the screen for their character. The attributes of the item will be displayed as well as any necessary items. For example, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternately, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements for specific items.

Generally speaking, weapons and jewelry offer better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related, upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will result in a significant increase in their power. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade as its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
