Upgrades can increase the performance of a piece of gear and sometimes even its extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by the gear's tiers, their requirements, and how many random augmentations can be applied.

For example, the elite shield of racial violence Razortail is often upgraded to enhance its lightning absorb function in PvP or to add additional defenses to missile-based designs in PvM. This makes it more marketable than the perfect non-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens allow you to roll a purchased item level upgrade like an armor, weapon or ring. This allows you to swap the item for one similar one, with a different set of extra bonuses. Reroll tokens are an efficient method of upgrading equipment. However, they don't keep the level of the original item and any resources that are wasted won't be compensated for.

Survivors can obtain Reroll tokens in a variety of ways, including through the Mistery Box and rare drops from skulled creatures. Leveling

Upgrade components can be replaced by new ones, but doing so will destroy the previous upgrade, excluding for glyphs that can be removed and replaced freely.

Requirements

Item upgrades give players the ability to increase certain stats of weapons and armor they currently own. The requirements for upgrading an item vary depending on the kind of item however, generally you'll require Dilithium as well as a few Upgrade Tokens (various options available).

Items can be upgraded by adding upgrade components to equipment and weapons. This will give them additional effects or an increase in item level. When you choose an upgrade component to slot into an item level upgrade the game will display an in-game window that lists the required requirements. The game will show the requirements required when you select an upgrade component to slot into an item.
