TMNT
« on: August 11, 2007, 12:45:14 AM »
is by far my favorite movie this year. I liked it better than anything else. It felt whole, down to earth, not too over the top and complete. I'm glad it finally came to DVD, my buddy got it for me for my birthday yesterday.

Now I'm just waiting for the last volume of Avatar from Book 2: Earth

Me and my sister are gonna buy the DVD this weekend. I saw it in theaters in April but I like the 1990 TMNT better. It was action-packed and it was hilarious. ;D
My favorite movie this year was Transformers without doubt.

I thought transformers was pretty good, but waaaay over the top. I liked the original TMNT back in the 90's but I liked the new one much more because it was more serious and less comedic, it's like the producers knew that the old fan base grew up a little bit and catered to us, I thought it was awesome. TMNT 2 and 3 were jokes IMO, and the AVGN explains perfectly why

I disagree...
After Watching TMNT (1990)
and
TMNT 2 (1991)
in preperation for the new TMNT movie...
It felt...
empty...
CGI can not replace my child-hood fondness of The Teen-age Mutant Ninja(/Hero) Turtles!
Cartoon and Live Action only for me lol

Comic Hi-jinks is a un-offical Trade-mark of TMNT
and well..The new Movie...just didnt Mesh with the other variations...

CGI is cool but it was abused by talking animal children movies. TMNT (2007) brought some respect back to it. The TMNT cartoon series from 90's was hilarious though. I never got into the 03 series. It was too boring and anime like for me.

man the cartoon from the 90's was a joke, lol, it was waaay over the top comedic. I was a fan of the comic, where they were violent and not afraid to get blood on their weapons, I guess that's why I like the new movie so much, a little bit of humor, but a more serious approach

ok that's the diffrence
I've never knew that side of the TMNT
mayby someday when I feel like it
I might dig into that side of TMNT but for now I just wanna keep the innocent side of them the "face" of it

PS: I never saw the old cartoon of it
the New cartoon is pretty decent even though I dont watch it much...
It's got a decent story...although..it's rly...kinda...stupid XD

I'd say I'm the opposite. I don't read comics, strictly cartoons. I want jokes and puns too much violence gets boring.

lol, yeah I can see that, nothing wrong with that. The cartoon was ok, but I was introduced to the comics and it was really serious, I mean it wasn't all about lashing, but they portrayed the image of Ninja and they got down, Negi, the cartoon was fun to watch when I was younger, but IMO it's a joke. The new cartoon tried to stay close to the comics, and it was really good, pretty serious with a touch of humor, but the new fast forward isn't good IMO. I rather watch the 2000 series cartoon and not the fast forward crap.

I've yet to see the new TMNT movie. I'm a bit skeptical as I've heard both good and bad reviews but I'll try and keep an open mind. On a side note, Slash would look awesome in the movie style. Or interesting at the very least. I prefer the live action turtles. The original live action, not the Next Mutation versions. Turtles 2 and 3 were too corny for me. Aside from that, they were okay movies. I like my turtles dark and gritty with a bit of humor thrown in. Too much humor and it's corny. Too much fighting, and it's boring. Ultimately, I like all the TMNT series though with Next Mutation being my least favorite. I'm hoping my friend buys the DVD so I can watch the new movie. It looks decent. I'm not too fond of the turtles fighting aliens despite they have in all of the series. I guess it's nice that they are trying to breath new life into it with new bad guys but not having Shredder still disappointed me.

I personally enjoyed it. Sure it had it's own story but it was hell of a lot better than TMNT3. I prefer this TMNT way more then that crappy 2000 anime series. The movie brought me back a lot of fond childhood memories. I was glad that they had Karai in the movie. I knew Shredder wasn't going to be in it because the movie happens after Shred got defeated, but like I said, it's better then the 3rd movie where the turtles traveled back in time using a lamp (I don't know wtf they were thinking and I don't care to). Some of the cgi looked more realistic than oh say the crapload of lame disney films that have been being crapped out from Pixar. Half the time The Turtles looked really awesome, I thought the cast for the voice actors were perfect, the only thing I didn't like was how cartoonish the human character models looked. Everything else looked amazing. Some critics think that this movie wasn't good but hey it could have been worse (oh say April having Purple hair and looking like a 15 year old), The jokes weren't as corny as the jokes from TMNT3 so yeah, this is one of the better things that happened to TMNT.
TMNT1 Awesome
TMNT2Good
TMNT3F@ckinglame
TMNT(07)Good.

There's only two CG movies that I really like and those are Advent Children and TMNT. After all these animal movies that pixar is crapping out, I can't stand Disney (they need to make movies like they did in the olden days, otherwise just make real life movies like Pirates, I swear if I see another movie about Penguins from pixar I am going to puke).

Although my favorite movie of this year would have to be either Halloween or Transformers.
Transformers was just perfect for me and did justice to the series, Halloween just gave me the old school horror movie feeling that I missed so much. Overall I'd have to say it like this

1.Transformers
2.Halloween
3.Pirates
4.TMNT
5.Spiderman 3 (after watching it two more times I didn't like it as much as I did when I first saw it).

yes, Toby is an awful actor, he plays Parker like a chum, and he's not even witty or funny. Topher Grace would have been a much better Spider-Man because he's naturally a jerk, and Spidey is a wise guy. Toby has no emotion as Spidey, Topher would have. God I can't stand Toby. What other movies he has done that has been good??? None. The friggin comic books had better emotion in the writing than Toby's acting. And Topher should not have played Venom, some big dumb guy should have.
