I need a lil help please...

could someone explain what a download manager does?  and if anyone can explain if download accelerators actually work?  thanks i always wondered if they worked?

i fink download manager is basically an application that controls the stuff u download not sure coz i never use it

I have one called downthemall! for firefox.

Basically they download in different methods.

The one i use downloads the data in block sizes and after you are done downloading it merges the data blocks to together to make a complete file that you downloaded.

does it make it easier to download? is that the point of smaller files?
