Yep, I read about that last week.

I'm not surprised, kids will do anything and get themselves into some pretty nasty situations these days.

Also, both of the kid's parents are facing jail time if the kid doesn't get charged.

Harsh indeed.

Most of the time, the parents are held accountable for their child's crimes.

Well, they never say how he "accidentally" caused the fire, and this is what I would like to know.

Yes, they don't even say anything on how the kid actually started the fire. The only thing we know is that matches were involved. The kid and his parents are in some serious s**t and are going to pay for the rest of their lives......really unfortunate and sad :(

That is f*cked up right there.  Whatever allowance that kid gets, he can say goodbye to it.  His parents will pay.  If the law dont get em the angry mob will.  You know theres gonna be one.

Yeah I need more info.  I find it really hard to believe a kid burned 800 miles with just a box of matches.  If you ever created a bunfire it takes consider work ( or lack of) to burn down a forest

Here is another artical that makes it seems like he only started a fraction of the fire

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21588342/

60 of 809 miles

That still doesn't make any sense.  :|

The firefighters were there to fight the fires, they didn't cause them.

So it's pointless to blame them, regardless of whether they were well-trained or not. We're looking at the people (or person) responsible for causing the fire, not at those who tried to fight the fire. There wouldn't be a fire had it not been for that little kid.
