comic book movies
« on: November 06, 2007, 10:24:02 PM »
so theres going to an iron man movie, a couple of spiderman movies, a projected hulk movie, etc. personally i hate all these movies for the simple fact that hollywood stales a solid grade a idea and sadisticly turns it into one of their own. example...batman in batman begins drives a tank and scarecrow wears a suit. <_<|...| spiderman in spiderman 3 teams up with the green goblin, in which case he rides some skateboard and has a sword and some biker helmet.

i dont know...anybody feel the same way.

Depends, I loved Batman Begins, V for Vendetta, and 300, even the Crow, and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

The Marvel ones are getting pretty tired. I think Iron man may be the diamond in the rough amongst a lot of other bad marvel movies though. It looks pretty classy.

something that pist me off about batman begins was how much they changed it. im a batman fan...i grew up watching the cartoons, grew up reading the comics, games, even collecting the toys. i hate how the makers of batman begins are trying to make it "realistic". you cant make a superhero realistic, super heros are meant to be fantasy. plus, they really contradict themselves becuase hey, you take scarecrow and put him in a suit just to be realistic?! well what about batman, why dont you put him in a suite? who would take a guy in a bat suite seriously in the first place if he was real. thats my whole point with it. now dont get me wrong, as a movie it was good, but as a batman fan, it sucked d***

as for ghost rider, i agree, it could have been alot better. starting with making mephisto and blackheart actual demons instead of some punk butt teenagers and some old guy.

Actually Batman Begins is the closest to the Comics of any Bat film. other than Ra's being his Mentor. Scarecrow actually has wore a suit b4 in the comics.

The TV show, and Burton, and Schumacher films were waaay cartoony. Batman hasnt been like that in the comics since the mid 60's.

Except when Burton did Batman his was something new, dark and extreem and Danny Elfman was only a budding star.

True, I was an old Oingo Boingo fan, and loved what Elfman did in Beetle Juice, so I was happy with that choice. I love them as Tim Burton Films, not as much as Bat Films.

Dark, gritty, yes. It just wasnt serious enough for my vision of what Batman is (I never tire of the 1st two though). The Crow was a modern take of Batman, I was glad to see Batman finally shown on that level in Begins.
