Origin of Dan....

Art of Fighting was basically created to poke fun at and to be Street Fighters rival, and Dan was originally created to poke fun at Art of fighting, am I right about any of this?

Actually, Ryo from art of fighting was meant to be a Ryu parody, and Dan was made as a Ryo parody.

art of fighting wasn't created to parody street fighter snk had no intentions to make fun they just wanted to make money... in response to this capcom created dan to mock both robert and ryo. dan is basically robert's head on ryo's body.

i think that robert and ryo are great characters specially the old one from art of fighting 2
sometimes you see robert striker dressed as dan also you when you see the dialog between dan and terry in svc terry actually thinks that dan is robert..
and the dialog between dan and mr.karate dan thinks that mr.karate is his father.
also giving dan the half haoh sokoken and the ryo punch isn't bad.
the only bad thing about ryo and robert is the story tho.

Correct. Ryo wasn't meant as a parody, as so much as he was meant to "cash in" on the popularity of Ryu. Bonus Kun from Waku Waku 7 is a Ryu parody, however.
