Necrobump for relevancy.
So I was up till like 1:00 last night (well last several nights) playing Strive. I haven't touched the series since #Reload but from what I've played all week... Strive is good. It's like, really good.
It's not overly mechanical like the previous entries, but what they kept has been expanded on. The Roman Cancel system is easy to understand, easy to use, and highly versatile.
Been purposing playing wifi with my friends and since launch we've only encounter frame skipping TWICE, and both times it was during share play cause we had others watching.
The matchmaking lobby is designed so that top level players can't come down to inexperienced players are destroy them all day. You're assessed and assigned a floor on the tower and cannot go to lower floors, but you are free to play on higher floors (EX: I'm on floor 6, so I can't match on floors 1-5, but if I want to get rekt I can visit floors 7-9). You can always hit the park it you just wanna run sets with friends or meet higher ranked players for casuals.
Bottom line, probably having the most fun in a fighting game in a really long while.
