Mega Man little revamp (DONE)

Mega Man is the main character of this game, it's an ok character but I always thought he would need more love and after Laspacho had agreed with this, I decided to work on him a bit.

 :)

What is new? ===========================

- Started to change his voices finally. Now he will use his custom made english voices.
- Fixed ALL HIS COLLISION BOXES - they were not good and I remade all of them from the scratch.
- Separated his weapons, super and hypers into different files.
- Mega Buster now has 3 different velocities and voices, plus particles. Also damage fixed and sprite changed

- Added 1 new winpose (will change the others soon).
- Top Spin has voices and each variatons, plus damage fixed.
- Best Foot First (air dive kick) with sound effect and variations, plus damage fixed.
- Changed transparent effects to other effects
- Added RUSH/BEAT voices
- Added Mega Slide voice and effects
- RUSH now uses MVC explosions


- Added more palettes*. Some based on other robots, some original



* I know, he should change the palette based on which weapon he is using currently. And I should be doing this soon.

More stuff soon - I have some ideas to try, like to make a new throw for him.

EDIT: I've found a good list of weapons to use on him. Thanks everyone for the help:

WEAPONS

• MM1 - Ice Man Ice Slasher (paralyzes the enemy)

• MM2 - Wood Man Leaf Shield (It's a classic shield like)

• MM10 - Nitro Man Wheel Cutter (travels on the ground and walls, kinda like Search Snake)

• MM9 - Hornet Man Hornet Chaser (Chaser type attack)

• MM5 - Crystal Man Crystal Eye(rebound projectile)

• MM6 - Tomahawk Man Silver Tomahawk(the projectile uses a upward arc path.)

SPECIALS

• MM3 - Top Man Top Spin

GRABS

• MM4 - Toad Man Rain Flush (a small cloud will appear over p2, rains a bit than Mega Man will kick him away)

Now each weapon will make Mega Man to change to original robot master from that weapon and he will stay with that color until the rest of the round :)

No, its based on the Chaotic version. But I am reworking a lot of stuff on him.

Last night I went though and had choosen all the 6 power sets for him, based on the 6 first games - Coincidently, these are the games that were made for NES.

I used the following questions to decide which weapons to use:
- I tried to use weapons not yet in the game (in most cases)
- I wondered if the mechanics for each weapon would be different
- If there were already edited sprites, not to waste the work of spriters.

So here is the choosen weapons:
• MM1- Guts Man (I already have sprites for this and the projectile uses a downward arc path.)

• MM2 - Wood Man (It's a classic shield like)

• MM3 - Spark Man (Paralyze the enemy)

• MM4 - Dive Man (Chaser type attack)

• MM5 - Crystal Man (rebound projectile)

• MM6 - Tomahawk Man (the projectile uses a upward arc path.)



In addition to these, the character will keep other weapons he already has that are not projectile:
• Top Man (Top Spin)

• Charge Man (Charge Kick)



I know it has an extra mode, triggered with D D + start, but I should change this to charged commands, like sonic boom.

I would love to include more weapons for him (up to 12), but I can't find a way to trigger the new sets (I thought in UP UP + button, but this will make him jump).

I am aware of that. But from MM4, its the best candidate


We already has those in other characters:
Pharaoh Shot (Pharaoh Man)
Ring Boomerang (Pharaoh Man)
Dust Crusher (Air Man and others)
Skull Barrier (Skull Man)
Dive Missle (Quint, Toad Man)
Drill Crusher (Needle Man and something like that in Crash Man)

Those two are out of question, because they are too cheap for a fighting game

Yeah, maybe we will need to change it.

Another option is...to change those sets and not only choose from the first NES games (which I would do prefer) but use weapons from games with NES sprites, so we could add Hornet Chaser from Hornet Man (and mega man would be the only character which could use it anyway, lol)


edit: I think we can use the Guts man powerset sprites to make a new Throw for him, so we could use a different weapon, from MM10

But we already had those:
Triple Blade (Blade Man)
Water Shield (Burst Man)
Commando Bomb (Crash Man)
Thunder Wool (Elec Man)

Any ideas? My best guest would be Chill Spike. No, wait, Chill Spike would work like Spark Man's attack.

I like hornet chaser as an replacement. Also did you change toad man? When did he get dive missles? Be sure to pm all the changes you make to the moves of character so I can update the manual.

Toad Man has a chaser missile as far as I can remember.

Be sure to pm all the changes you make to the moves of character so I can update the manual.

please check the RMM 3.0 UPDATE REPORT topic. I track all my changes there.

Thinking more about this, I would remove Spark Man attack from him, since I need to save electrical based moves for Elec Man (he can't make much outside of this theme).

Pharaoh Man calls Ring Man in one of his weapons already


I wanted to cover all the NES games on this character, MM3 and MM4 are missing from the list.
But he already has Top Spin (MM3) as one of his special attacks - the other is Charge Kick from MM5, but I still want to include Crystal Eye (and the move is just a slide now, with no effect, so its more like his normal slide).

So maybe I can code either Flash Stopper or Rain Flush as one of his throws? He would grab, executes the move (changing is colors for a short time then returning to the original color).

Edit: Rain Flush would work better in this case.

For MM3 either Magnet Missile or Hard Knuckle could work.

Magnet Missile would clash or even be better than Silver Tomahawk (MM6). And MM3 is already covered (see above)

Megaman looks great.  I'm glad he is getting a nice overhaul. 

Honestly, I never Played Smash Bros with Mega Man. Do you have a video?

I am following the list I've set above, and the first weapon - Ice Slasher - was done. I've found a cool effec to use as the projectile

It freezes upon contact. If you use it again, it will just knockdown the enemy.
To avoid cheapness, you can't combo this weapon from any attack.

@HyperVoiceActing hehehe you were not the only person to talk about the voice.
