Playing MIDI's in Mugen
« on: August 13, 2007, 04:30:38 PM »
I'm running EVE screenpack and how do I get Mugen to play MIDI's as well as MP3's and WAV?

if u mean by stages just open the stage.def and keep going until u see this

[Music]
bgmusic =
bgvolume =

now say u have a song called ryu_theme u would copy the name of ryu_theme and put it next to bgmusic
u must put all of ur music in the sound folder and then if ryu_theme was a mp3 it would look like this
if it was a wav or a midi it would be Ryu_theme.mid (for midi) and ryu_theme.wav for wav files
[Music]
bgmusic = sound/ryu_theme.mp3
bgvolume = 1034

upload the song? I can but in case you're going to convert it to a wav, I've done that and it sounds different, not as good as it is in midi. Which is complete butt backwards.

it only supports mp3's. I heard there was supposed to be a patch for it to play midi, ogg, and wav

what I normally do with midi's is convert them to wav using one program, then convert them to mp3 with another. But I noticed this song sounds different when you change it to a wav. Thats why I want to play it as a midi. The song can be found a www.vgmusic.com it's in the gamecube section of super smash brothers melee, the song is Hyrule Temple (Spirit Remix)
