The Joker
« on: December 09, 2017, 06:25:00 PM »
So, you may have seen a sneak preview of the Joker in my Ivy video, so thought it was time I finally formally announced him! Gifs suffer a bit of colour and frame loss but you get the idea

Basics minus air attacks are done (movements, get hits, basic attacks). One special, one hyper and one win pose are also done.

Before you ask, he's not just Rugal, he's heavily thinned down and in fact none of his standing punches are Rugal's, they're a mix of Q and Yamazaki. Whilst he may share some basic movements (back walk, jump and crouch) he will definitely be very different!

I can't wait to hear his signature laugh.

Your Joker looks very fluid with nice details. Is Zvitor coding him as well? Great combo you 2 are.

THE MAN WHO LAUGHS!

I am trying to find the reference you have based your design off, is this the old Unlimited WIP?

Can i suggest you add more detail, like separate the shirt into a vest and shirt (he usually wears a 3 piece suit) white/purple gloves and a smaller beau tie? I am sure you will make a smart pal for awesome versions!

And the face,,, very hard to get right! IMO the nose is the hardest bit, but also because working with a white face can be tricky.

Here is the one I been working on for a long time, some people may say the stripes are too much work though...
I used Iori as a base

Good luck and have a laugh!
HAHAHA

Great to see at least one part of Unlimited's old project alive :)

Very quick tips on how to improve the animation- look them up closely to see what I changed :) (added one frame and changed the head of another + adjusting fixes)

-->

Also, watch out for shadows --> see the left leg and how the frames seem to jump just because they were not shaded like the ones before? The stance frame seems to have less detail than the rest/ there seems to be a unfinished part on the left leg that pops out in the animation
+the back part of his suit could need some smoothing out in the animation, but I'm not sure if you care for that

Concerning the Gun Shot - the retreat part needs a frame or two :)

Lookin' good, Harbinger :D

After Xfield's Cheetah and this... I am truly afraid to ask this guy about how I could improve the animations of Robin... I might end up with quite a homework to do :cool

Jokes aside (no pun intended), I really like HQ's contribution
