Hello people, I created this post to promote a very particular project that I and my team of 4 people (including me) have been organizing and improving for years. This project is about a fighting game created on Mugen, and the latest (ultimate possibly) version of the game was made for
Mugen 1.1.

As the new features of Mugen 1.1 were allowing to do so much in HD, we've been creating characters in chibi styled sprites in order to let the stages be immense and awesome, combining HD semirealistic stages and the old school epic pixel art.
The name of the game is
Ninja VS Pirates, and is just a way to say
Naruto VS One Piece.
But this is
not about a game with just random characters killing each other with strange techniques and physical prowess.
This has a whole new background behind.
The roster was improved many times in order to keep up with the popularity of some characters, but also to make our game original and new, including moves that were not shown in the anime yet, at least in some cases.
Right now, there are
10 characters per faction, and the number of good and evil characters is not unbalanced as one would think.
But the best thing about the game is the inclusion of a
storyline, of an original plot, that was organized by us in such a way that it would not look too absurd, or so that plot holes would not come out of the blue.
Although there was absolutely no explanation to why some characters were included or not, a whole set of
custom storyline was made up
for all the characters in order for them to discover why they are in the game.
A smart possibility we then chose to make the plot interesting for every single character, and I hope it will be the same feeling for you guys.
We actually considered the fact that many chars are particularly loved, in both Naruto and OP,
like Luffy and Zoro, Naruto and Sasuke, and many others, but we decided to make less fan service to promote equality among characters!
The game also includes some
funny or
curious Easter eggs, and even some
what-if scenarios depending on the choice of characters, all things added to the fun of playing.
The story mode is an epic journey by a given character: in a universe where everything was mashed up together, the player will struggle against minigames, bosses of all rosters, and they are
ALL challenging. It doesn't matter who is chosen, the char will have to do their best to win.
All the while, the players will meet random characters to talk to, and some surprises will await them at the end of the game.
The game also includes:Heavy stage interactivity on almost all stages, things like
- Platforms (from normal to diagonal and moving ones)
- Objects you can destroy or destroy you!
- Stuff you can fall in - Pit holes, water, cliffs etc.
- and many more .. !
Adventure stages which are part of the story mode ! (similiar to a platformer game)
Like stated before, an original storyline, with a lot of custom dialogues
Custom Lifebars (those on the video and screens are outdated) and custom VS screen!
Mini and Big Boss Battles!
For now only 1 VS 1 battles, maybe we might include team battles in the future
- you can freely choose to be the AI or a player, same goes for the enemy, AI vs AI is also possible
- gameplay is a simple button mashing, might change though
- Characters can go into a MODE when life is low (similiar to a heat mode)
- Parry, Clashing, Counter systems
- 2 different combos which are linkable with each other and most of the specials
