Marvel Super Heroes Reborn is a game mirroring the original MSH but different in a lot of ways.
If you downloaded She-Hulk and played around with her then you already know a little bit about the system although she is merely a prototype and some mechanics have yet to be implemented.
The gameplay focus will be on competitive 1v1 matches and arcade mode with the best mechanics of the VS. series and Street fighter series, with the story being loosely based on the infinity guantlet story arc and illustrated by animated sprite scenes, similar to those in X-Men: COTA

As far as roster you can expect to see the original 10 characters as well as some new additions,  stage selection will be much the same with the game being released in phases starting with a 2 character demo soon. that will be followed by the first tier release and then expanded on from there.

The gameplay is basically a more technical version of MSH, with Super-Cancels, Alpha Counters, Parries and a Desperation System.

The entire roster will have a brand-new, remixed and fresh moveset. Doom has an entirely NEW moveset that involvies strategies involving controlling his space using his rush-down techniques and his teleports. Yes, Doom can teleport, he has a Super Mega Plasma Beam Hyper and has a new move where he activates an electric Shield and rushes down the opponent, just to name a few. You can even cancel out of his teleport and shield rush moves into a special or super to play mind games with your opponent by having them let their guard down for a bit.
Teleporting behind the opponent when your oppenent rushes in and grabbing to smash them into the ground following up with a air combo and a OTG super feels SO satisfying. This Doom is certainly unique compared to the rest of the previous Dooms, as he focuses on more getting up close and personal with your opponent, rather than spamming FOOTDIEEEVE and his Plasma Beam.

We also have an all-new system call the "Desperation System". The Desperation System is a "all-or-nothing" gamble. Once you're health drops below twenty-five percent, you will no longer have access to your level 3. INSTEAD, you have access to an even more powerful, one-hit-kill cinematic epic firin mah lazur amazballs super instead. But watch out!
If the Desperation attack doesn't connect and misses, you're dead. So use it wisely.

The stages will also feauture interactive stages, thanks to ELECTRO and his granting of permissions for use of the Interactive MUGEN add-on. You rock!

The Roster currently consists of:
She-Hulk
Dr.Doom
Taskmaster
Scarlet Spider (sprited from scratch by me)
Cyclops (90's)

and introducing:
Star-Lord


Yes, that is right, Star-Lord and Scarlet Spider will be included as characters in the launch roster. They are both sprited from scratch by me in CvS style (meaning i haven't even used a Spidey base for Scarlet Spider, aside from the upper body, which is Rock Howard, while the legs are from scratch) , I am even adhering to the 16 color limit just to make it feel more accurate.

Taskmaster will also be joining the roster as well, remixed and revamped. (Yes, we have permission to use him, as his original authors' readme that comes with his original character states that as of March 2014, anyone can make their own version of Task, as long as Rojin is credited, which he is.)

(note: these are not the final looks for Scarlet Spider and Star-Lord, these are just 2 concept sprites. I have already updated their looks and will showcase them soon. Shulkie will be re-sized in gameplay.)

We are purposely holding off on revealing conventional characters as we want the newcomers to get more spotlight first.

note: the only 2 actually confirmed characters for the fullgame so far are She-Hulk and a highly-customized Doom. All of the fighters' movests will be fully customized.

I don't know what all your plans are, but if this is your first time making a full game, might I recommend you start off with a small roster, like 10-12 playable chars and add more later in like a 2.0 version. That way, you really have to pick and choose the best characters that will complement each other as a whole.
Also, you will learn from the previous version and can build onto it and improve the few chars you have. Too often projects never see the light of day because they were so ambitious with a large roster, that they never find the time to finish it all. Then again, it looks like you're mostly going to use chars that are already sprited.
The screenpack looks nice. Though it mostly looks like the original MSH game. Is Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet the main story/final boss to this game?

That is exactly what we are doing. Like we said numerous times, the screenshot showing the roster is NOT the roster itself, it is just paniqd's personal roster. we already have a small-but-subtle roster planned, with an updated version coming post-launch. the only 2 chacters that are confirmed so far are She-Hulk and Doom. With 3 newcomers being sprited entirely be me. We are taking our time with this project and Paniqd is currently in the stage of deciding which 2 characters of the roster will be included in the demo.

how about some mystic attacks to make him a little different

anything specific you would suggest? i always thought of his attacks as a mix of science and mysticism. i'm a little hesitant to add specials to a character that already has 6 ground specials and 3 air specials lol

they are a mix but maybe gather some new effects for the specials you are using

Powers and Abilities

Sorcery: Doctor Doom's potential in the mystic arts comes from the Roma (i.e. Gypsies) heritage of his mother. He learned these abilities from his time with a secret order of monks in Tibet. He further developed his abilities by traveling through time and learning lost Dark Arts. Doctor Strange originally considered him magically proficient but only a mid-level mage, but now considers Doom one of the most powerful practitioners of sorcery and a potential Sorcerer Supreme. His knowledge and power is great enough to hold his own against the likes of Morgan le Fay and Doctor Voodoo, the current Sorcerer Supreme. His knowledge of spell-craft likely surpasses Doctor Strange's, former Sorcerer Supreme. However, he considers his scientific abilities to be more important and has devices that do many of the same things. In Marvel Avengers Alliance, Doctor Doom displayed some magical abilities such as Magic Bolt, Ring Imperial, and Steal Essence.

Consciousnesses- He has will-powered based constructs powers by putting what he wants into his own body to another person's body.

He has displayed sorcery in the following ways:
•Mystical Blasts
•Mystical Force-fields
•Invoke Entities
•Spell Casting
•Summoning
•Teleportation
•Dimensional Travel
•Mystical Ensnaring
•Mystical Portals

Mind Transference: By training with an alien race, Doom has gained the ability to switch his mind with that of another nearby human being with whom he's made eye contact, a process which he learned from the alien Ovoids. However, Doom prefers his own body and only uses this transference power as a last resort.

i feel pretty confident with what i have then. I added a teleport. he's got a forcefield and his desperation will send the opponent to another dimension if it hits :) if it doesn't he gets sucked into another dimension.

I'll think about the other stuff. if i get inspired i'll add or modify. some of it is a little difficult to translate in to a fighting game. and that's what i want primarily. a good game.

spidey will be in there. you can count on the original MSH roster showing up, all revamped like doom of course. the plan is for scarlet spider to play very differently with his fancy sprites from scratch thanks to luis!

I'm thinking of incorporating some movie stuff into the updated look. I'll contact someone about a smartpal maybe.

also, good news! it turns out we CAN put taskmaster in the project. i just found this in the ORIGINAL readme for Taskmaster:

Don't forget to write "sprite by rojin70". It's the only restriction.
