Mugen Reviews - Burstman
« on: January 14, 2015, 01:29:53 PM »
Requested by O Illusionista!

Check it out!
Note: Sorry about some of the mistakes I made when I was pronouncing something or whatnot, I was pretty tired while recording this (woke up at 4 am for an appointment).

Thanks for the review, dude. Man, that standing on the air bug is so noob that I can't believe I made it, lol.

Some points I would like to share:

- You should read the readme file for the moves. That file is called readme for a reas...OMG had I forgot to put the moves on the readme? O_o

- You need to click "Switch to sprite palette" to get rid of those black palette sprites you get in Fighter Factory

- The character has a Power Set, with 6 powers. The command is DOWN, DOWN + any button. Each button triggers a custom power set (water wave, Step Mine, Flash bomb, Salt Water, Water Shield, Napalm)

- Almost every move (including the power sets) has variations based on which button you had pressed (weak, medium or hard). Examples - In Water Wave changes the distance from Burstman, in Napalm controls how much the bomb will bounce, in Step Mine controls how long the bomb will stand before explodes (it explodes upon contact too), in Flash Bomb (the one you didn't liked) controls how far the the bomb will travel (but it WONT explodes uppon contact) - this is why the bomb goes offscreen.  It works with Charge Attack too.

- The light kick combo doesn't bothers me, because it isnt an infinite and the Damage Dumper takes care of it, its just a iffy damage. But I can take a look at it. The same for the punch > bubble combo.

Thanks for the review. I will fix the bugs as soon as possible.

Alrighty, cool....cool...

-Nah, you didn't forget the moves on the readme. I just went in without needing the movelist thinking it would be common sense.

-I'll try that out for Fighter factory
-I could have swarn it was down(x2) and not backwards DP  o.O#

-Makes sense

-I know. It's just that it kind of bothered me for a sec that a light kick could chain potentially 6-7 times. It just caught me off gaurd (similar to the Edd HP infinite, minus the actual brokeness and actual infinite).

Np man, I'm looking foward to doing more reviews and way better mugen coverage with my own projects and this series ^_~

Those kind of review is very valuable for any serious coder. Please, do more of this :)
(little tip - some creators could be "offended" with those videos because they think that exposing bugs is a bad thing, when its exactly the opposite)

Yeah... I gotchya  ::salute:: . I've seen many of these things happening before, including myself when I started. But then I just try to get over it and fix it, otherwise I would be stuck with a misserable mistake and a exploitable character... key word being "try" ...

Thanks for the tip anyways  :Wink
