Portrait Problem !

So, I'm using Photoshop CS6 to create portraits for my Mugen screenpack, but I came across a problem. I'm trying to make a portrait for Radioactive Man.

I'm trying to copy this one, saved with Fighet Factory.



But when I copy it in another photo, it changes color.



Why is that happening ? Because when I created portraits for Black Panther & Moon Knight, this never happened. Why now ?

Este din cauza ca fisierul tau este indexat. Trebuie facut in format RGB. Sfatul meu e sa folosesti GIMP; e mult mai simplu.

Nu imi place GIMP, Photoshop mi se pare m-ai simplu, parerea mea.

Due to complete lack of english in the last 3 posts, i don't know whether it was solved or not.

Palettes always work the same way. If you export an existing sprite of him and load it up in photoshop (or gimp which is free and worth having) that palette will be maintained on the image and you can edit it. Alternatively FF3 has an edit palette functionality and you can simply navigate to the image you want and then edit the palette, saving it as a new one. Looking at your copy the palettes on the pictures probably don't match, photoshop does odd things with palettes. Try just using FF3's inbuilt one if you're going to do anything.

So, i've been trying all day to get make portraits, but I can't seem to figure out what am I doing wrong. Now, I get this :



Doctor Strange, has an unusual blue background around him.

I want my portrait to be like this :



It's so frustrating, because I made my first two portraits without problems.

You don't have colour 0 set correctly. Have a look at another sprite in FF3, with the palette visible. One of the colours will be in slot 0, most likely top left as photoshop does it odd and puts it in bottom right. The colour in top left is transparent. You may need to edit the palette of the portrait you make to achieve this.

Get GIMP, really, it's not big and you can drag and drop the colours in the palette around the place. You will find it far simpler for palette modification. Photoshop is a bit of a d*** through the reversed palette thing.

I played a bit with GIMP, and it's nice, I like it ! But, can you explain to me how to set color to 0 correctly ? If it's not too much trouble.
