Sweet! Look like those x-ray moves are back. Ouch, those looked painful.
Of course they would show Scorpion and Sub-Zero first. Costumes look interesting, not bad.
I wonder if this game's story continues from the last one? At least Raiden, J. Cage and Sonya could return.
Looking forward to seeing who is next to be revealed!

I think the story will not continue from the last one. Sub-Zero (and most of the heroes) was killed. Unless something revives them. Lets see, if MK9 was the story counterpart to MK1, MK2 and MK3, MKX will go from MK4, so we can expect Fujin, Reiko, Shinnok, Tanya, Kai, Jarek and maybe even Sareena.

On a side note, I will hate this game until I get a PS4.

True, I sort of hope they just start fresh and do something new with a new villain. You can reuse bosses only so many times. Quan Chi and Shinnok aren't very compelling characters, IMO.

lol I think it's for PS3 and 360 as well, if you still have a previous gen console.

Start fresh? But they technically did it with MK9, after all, its MK123 happening again. And yeah, Quan Chi and Shinnok will never be as classic as Shao Kahn. In fact, few characters added after UMK3 actually were memorable, and the ones that were appeared in MK9: Quan Chi and Kenshi (not considering Skarlet, since it was her debut).

lol I think it's for PS3 and 360 as well, if you still have a previous gen console.
I hope so... I'd hate to hate this game.

I meant, do something that isn't a remake/reboot/rehashing of previous games. Move forward, new story, new characters, bring back only a few of the classic characters. OR bring back mostly classic characters and make the gameplay and visuals feel different enough that it's worth buying when you already have MK9.
Especially when the graphics are probably going to suffer, since they will support PS3 and 360. Unless they're doing like Tomb Raider did with their "Definitive Edition".

I don't think they'll risk adding a roster with too much new characters. Unless they give those characters cool personalities and great importance, they wouldn't be much memorable like most of the after-MK3 chars. They did say "Who's next?" so it could hint new people.

You're right. I don't know what it is about new characters, but fans just don't respond well to them. I would be surprised if we see many new characters. As long as they aren't more palette swaps. lol
NetheRealms usually does large rosters, so there's plenty of room for all kinds of characters. Though I prefer smaller rosters. NetherRealms seems to handle large rosters well though, so no worries. :P

Indeed, but don't worry about palette-swaps too, in UMK3 the ninjas were all palette swaps and each of them was cool in its own way. So, if there is something I'm not worried about its that.

Ya, game doesn't come out till 2015, so definitely not a time to worry. They'll do good I'm sure. I'm excited that MK is back. :)

wow, those x ray moves look really promising.  I wish super realistic gore for this game, it really deserves it. Only thing I don't want is a MK9 II, the original one is ok.  :-SS

Looks like there's already a wiki page for this game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortal_Kombat_X

Supposedly, it's going to be a new, original story and have some new characters. Yay.
Also, going to be multiple versions of characters which will play differently. Interesting. I wonder how they will handle that for the newer characters. Sounds it makes sense though, if they are going to be heavily focusing on online play. Still not sure if I grasp the whole concept they're going for. Hopefully we'll get to see a lot more from E3 next week. :)

Multiple versions who play differently? Well, I never really liked having Bi Han and Kuai Liang in the same character, it took away the individuality of both characters. And also I don't think Cyrax and Sektor should have the same moves as humans and as robots, they should play differently. Well, I hope the new story is good.

I have a theory..... Who's next = New Subzero. I hope so because I was not too thrilled with the cyborg Subzero.

He was just an excuse for new character. And he is one of the main reasons I hope this reboot in the story is true.

If they are really going to have multiple versions of each character, then we may be seeing the classic, MK3 and cyborg version of Sub Zero maybe? Thus, hopefully means less DLC and more content on initial release. Though I'm sure they're going to release a ton of alternate costume DLC. Which kind of makes sense if they are heavily focusing on online tournament.

I don't think they're going to keep Cyber Sub, I'd say they'll be adding Bi Han and Kuai Liang.

If they do follow the storyline there is a high possibilty of Frost replacing Sub in the story.
Sub and Scorp will definetly be in the game as they are MKs poster boys, and we might get zombie Liu Kang back.
So yea
bettin almost all characters will return, and if they don't appear in the story they will probably just be arcade/online play etc.
Mugen.
Nuff said

The dead characters are another reason that makes me think even more that there will be a reboot, it would be very bad if all those characters were there without appearing in the story.

I just watched the new trailer of Mortal Kombat X and...WOW.
There is a big char with a small creature on his back, a clocked girl with some spider influences, you can grab the objects like in Injustice
and the fatalities are very cool!

There is a big blue guy that I don't know who is.

That looked awesome. They are already showing all-new characters. I wonder if they'll just remove everyone else and put new characters. Another thing: what will happen to that little guy when we do the fatality on the big monster? Also, I liked the insect girl (reminded me of Sadira, initially, but her attacks are different), I just noticed that there was no one really insect-like in the franchise yet, and I didn't expect the a mounted character also. And why didn't they show a gameplay with the blue guy?

Side note: I hate to see Kuai Liang always getting beaten on the trailers. That doesn't happen in the story.
Side note 2: Wait, did Scorpion say "Murderer"? So that is Bi Han then...

Glad to see they are exploring and experimenting with new characters. I hope the ratio for new/old characters is like MK4. It had about 1/3 old characters and 2/3 new if I remember correctly.

Love the new moves I saw for Sub-Zero and Scorpion. Did they wear different costumes throughout the video in different scenes? I like how the x-ray moves look more exciting, I do hope though that once they are executed that the player and decide which x-ray move to follow up with, so it's not just a constant repeat of the same x-ray every time. That would get old fast.
