Once again I request you not to use the sheet of Deathstroke you found online.
That was hard work of several of my friends at The Unlimited.

I am also the current spriter of our own Deathstroke, and find extremely annoying that you are using our work without permission.

I'm not familiar with the sprite work for this character.  Were sprites from the Unlimited team used here without permission?

Edit:
From what I have been told there are sprites from the Unlimited team that were posted publicly and were used in Deathstroke without permission.  If this is the case my suggestion is to edit a few more sprites and swap out the sprites in question with some new ones.  You already have permission from Acey to use Snake eyes as an edit so it would totally be worth it.  For the record I like the edit.
Thanks

Ugh...isn't giving credit enough to you already?
Or wait, did chuchoryu not even credit you guys for the sprites. Because that totally happened already before.

Well, seeing as the last character released from the Gotham Knights project was Jason Todd, maybe Chuchoryu thought an alternative Deathstroke might be pretty cool.....

No, it's not.

He didn't even bother to look for the author. Wherever this sheet was posted, there was someone of the Unlimited clarifying it was a leaked material, not meant to be used without permission.

I wasn't aware our wip development speed was the condition for people to use our work without permission. So If my Robin and Martian Manhunter are leaked, it is ok to use them? You might want to review your concept.

@Chuchoryu: its nice having a Deathstroke, thank u for sharing, try and be more careful with other ppl's work and using it in the future

@navsmed41: i would hate for someone to use my work before i release it, hence why i don't share progress in GIF format or at all lately, though u cannot stop this, in 'other' places this is encouraged and admired and overlooked. there's nothing that can be done now, though it would be nice to see some of that awesome work in action - from all of us, but nowadays everyone is very busy in RL and has grown up and those who haven't are very rude and impatient.

If Unlimited's Deathstroke was released, it would be forgivable, but Chuchoryu, its not even like the character has gone public yet. And I must say you released better characters than this one (considering gameplay).

You should always ask for permission because it takes the spriters hours to make the sprites sometimes they even do sprite from scratch and its just a simple rule of respect.  What will happen if people keep doing this is it will discourage people from spriting characters and less things will be released or people will just go private.  It's just a matter of respect and such.

I know it's a matter of respect.
That is the reason why CREDITS exist.
Someone giving credits to someone else is better than that nonfunctional permission junk.
Nobody gets discouraged, and yet, if someone downloads a character, the downloader will know that the coder did NOT make the sprites, but someone else did the sprites, because the coder would then CREDIT the spriter.
Permissions, on the other hand, let anyone down and are a sign of elitism, which is never good.

Not the same guy, it's this guy who asked for permission for Snake eyes :

http://www.infinitymugenteam.com/Forum_345/index.php?topic=42604.msg509491#msg509491

This Deathstroke being an edit of the other one by a different author.

Pretty much, didn't credit Acey, didn't credit The Unlimited, didn't even credit Rena1ss4nce. As you said it's also about respect.

By the way you might want to check his signature ; no point in removing the download link if it is still in the signature.

Ah, damn. I thought that chuchoryu learned from his mistakes already.
Back then, he didn't credited CVSNB/CvS_Abstract for the Paul Phoenix's head, which chuchoryu used for his own Paul Phoenix.

And Jin sprites from CVSNB wip which he used for his own Jin & Kazuya wip, and Strong Guy sprites by Mc Cready for his Dark Khan and so on...

I have to disagree on Jin, though.
It is clearly a headswap of chuchoryu's Kazuya, using a modified version of the head of SeanAltly's Jin.

You know, its not like they can actually give permission for anything right? I mean, its not like DC gave permission for the MUGEN spriters to make a Deathstroke too. Thats why I think credits are above permissions, at least after the character is released, because if its still a WIP its kinda like stealing the idea, but if its released, you don't have control of it anymore, its internet, once you release something, forget about it being yours, it will belong to anyone who wants it.

For those thinking my views on this are stupid, let me clarify something.

In my upcoming Rick Taylor project, I've asked for (and received) permission from The Pizzaman to base my Rick on his and use assets from his in mine.  The vast majority of the weapons, sounds and other stuff are from open-source sprite databases.   Anyone who I wasn't able to ask permission from will be receiving a full credit in the readme for the part of their work I used, EXPLICITLY stating that they were the authors of the original work.

It's a two-way street, really.  Show respect for others, and hopefully they'll show respect for you.  Act like you own the world, and the world will treat you like a talentless scrub.

Care to review the latest next-gen console fighting games that are 2D CPS2 graphics? I would like to hear your opinion on the 2D versions of MKVSDC, Injustice, UMVC3 and SF4.

I dare to say it's pretty easy to deny the need of permission if you not a good spriter, or spriter at all. Try busting a few hours coloring pixels for a quality work and let me know how you will feel. Or try that without releasing the character and having your stuff leaked.

If the community members would like to be acknowledged for changes in the commercial gaming market, credit will be needed at all times. Or else we will be just a bunch of anonymous contributors for uncreative game artists who actually get paid to use our ideas.

Wait... do you think Deadpool, Arthur, Thor and Ghost Rider in U/MVC3 are original ideas? Must be a hell of a coincidence.

Now, back on topic: I see it's not his first time using other people's work without any consideration. I'm not calling a witch hunt or mugen police. My first post was not demanding punishment or ban. It's a request and reminder of common courtesy and respect.

I personally dont like using other folks sprites. Its my ideology in respects to the hard work they have done and i as a spriter want to learn to do my own.
Credit and permission to me both function as a form of artistic respect. If they want just credit, cool, if they want permission still cool.  Its all about having some form of respect to who did the laid work thats being used. Different folks as well different forums have they own ways of doing things and showing their respect towards the person or persons who inciated the foundation work.  It doesnt matter to me if a sheet was found on the net ( as almost any image  publicly posted pretty much zaps to google pics lol) i still find it a great thing to always ask for permission first. if they dont require permission STILL give credit cause they done the main work and its again...respect.

Sometimes this is also why i am glad i havent posted any recent work public, lol, heck even a simple animated gif can be snagged and turned into a frame sheet and used.  [-X lol

hopefully all this stuff gets resolved somehow as there can be much good done to have this character ( and many more thats even non comics) brought into mugen without conflict. Plus i hate the word Elitism lol.

@ Navs. nahhh my good cool bro, 2d gaming isnt really outdated  ( I think  lol)...its evolving. we either evolve with it or we stay retro /classic.  ;D
