A New Power Rangers Movie!!!

Not really sure if this is a reboot of MMPR or a movie to go along with Mega Force or a whole new thing on it's own.

What do you guys think?
I think, if they got the majority of the original cast to do a MMPR reunion movie, I'd be very excited for it, else I don't really care at all. Nothing really beats the original MMPR. Though I don't know if the mainstream audience would embrace it.
But apparently Saban thinks Lionsgate has something good up their sleeve for this franchise, so we'll see. With no director or writer assigned yet, I don't think we'll be seeing anything soon.

I'm kinda on the fence about it.

On one hand it's-THAT"S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT

On the other hand it's- Wait how are they going to reboot MMPR with the series where it is now and who's gonna star in it?

This is one of the movies that nearly everyone will be in support of but if there is a single mistake then everyone is going to turn there back on it(see ninja turtles). It's going to be hard for them to start fresh due to the fact that half the audience is going to be adults who have great childhood memories of the show and the other half is going to be teens/children who have no idea why this Ranger movies isn't about their current favorite rangers.


I'm super on board no matter what but they need to be careful in the route they take because if done right they could turn MMPR into a movie franchise well at least 2 maybe 3 movies

This would actually be pretty cool if they went the route of Pacific Rim. It'd be even cooler if they brought back my boy Jason (the original Red Ranger) & my 2 lady loves, Kimberly (the original Pink Ranger) & Aisha (the 2nd Yellow Ranger). I'd definitely be down with seeing those two lovely ladies again, mixed with PR style action... that'd be a must see for me.

1. Why reboot at all? Just make it, if you as a movie goer are looking for a deep cohesive story, you wouldn't be going to see a power ranger movie anyway.

2. Every power ranger movie (good or bad) has thus far bombed, it's throwing money away. Just focus on making a great summer popcorn sci-fi flick, do it well, word of mouth is the best commercial.

3. Why not just make a new movie based ranger universe franchise, new cast, new robots, new villains. At least then they can do something memorable, rather then feed on nostalgia like cancer.

It's really hard to say what they are doing at this point. All they really announced is which studio they are partnering with to create a new movie franchise. Nothing solid is known about their plans. Ultimately, Saban saw the chance to make lots of more money. That's all that is for certain.

I heard Micheal Bay is doing the screenplay. If that's true, then I'm automatically out. He's already touched enough of my childhood to scar me for the rest of my days.

This whole thing reminds me of that kid who wanted to make a Ryu/Dhalsim mash-up, the result will be the same-

It could be interesting, might be awesome, but ultimately you know he/they lack the drive to pull it off.
