give him a lil bounce other wise he seems a bit floaty and stiff.

 ^^(PM)^
At first, as I wrote before, i was thinking it was only a problem of the slow gif animation. Now that you say that I realize what's wrong with it, it's really not fit for a 3 ton robot XD
I'll fix it as soon as possible!

I've fixed the dash animations! I made two versions, one recycling the stand-to-crouch sprites:

It's a long time I don't post any progress: I went away for holidays and I didn't take my computer with me, so I couldn't work on hardman for a while, but now i'm back XD

Thank you man, I don't know nothing about coding so I'll need someone to code Hard Man, or at least someone who have enough patience to teach me how to code XD
Anyway, I think the sprites must be finished before starting to code, but maybe I'm totally wrong (as I wrote above, I don't know absolutely nothing about coding, so I don't know if the sprites must be finished before coding or not).

Looks good, good sprite-work,  even that ridiculous earth-quake diving head-butt thing from MM3 is in and it looks good, It looks like the most unfortunately named mega-man master in the series is getting a new lease on life

It's a long long time i don't post anything about the progress on my work. I'm really sorry, this is a very hard period with university, music and other RL issues. All i can say it's that the project is not dead! Soon i'll post some new stuff :)

Hi! I'm really sorry for this very long absence on the forum. Unfortunately this bad period is not over, but i didn't stop this project  :)
This is Hardman Jump.

think a rigid motion is appropriate to the character, but maybe I exaggerated a bit, so i think i'll redo it...

I like it.  He is a larger robot so I think the rigid movement works.

OK  :)
Then i'll go with this animation for the jump (for now).
Anyway, i'm starting to work on some base attacks. I've finished the standing punches, i'm working on the standing kicks but i'm having some problems, nothing too serious

When i first did the animation on photoshop, it was really good, but now i see it a bit sloppy, I don't know if it's only a problem of my computer (i've tried to load the animations on my mobile phone and i see them like they should be)...

First the jump is good.  The only thing wrong is his toes  don't move/ point downward when air born.

Second the punches are great.  I really like the flow of the animation and I like the over all design of the character.  He has that old school new feel about him but yet maintains that MvC feel as well.  Cheers good sir.

Third about the animations not looking right on your computer.  It's most likely adobe systems and not you.  I use photo shop to draw and fireworks to animate.  The timing is always off.  I check my animations on the Web because of this.  I know it's not my comp.  I use a high end comp made for gaming and 3d modeling/ rendering. So I know it's not me,  all other soft ware works fine.  So don't worry about your timing.  Check it via Internet.  After awhile you will learn to tune your animations with out a Web check.  Practice makes excellence.

Thank you for the compliments and for the tip about the jump. I'll work on it now and tomorrow i will post it  :)

About the animation, the problem remains also checking the animation via internet (if i use this computer). I'm checking right now going on the forum on the phone, later i'll check on another computer

I like both versions of the rocket punch (Hard Knuckle). Maybe use both?

Interesting kick combo. I'd like to see how it plays out in game.

For the strong kick, he should lift his leg before stomping the ground, like in Sumo.

Why not? Maybe the old school version could be the same move done with the weak and medium punch and the other could be done with the strong punch, or it can be an hyper version of the move, or something else...

I don't really like the idea, but on the Megaman&Bass CD data is said he like sumo, so it should be appropriate for the character. I'll sprite a "sumo version" of the strong kick  ::salute::

Normal strong kick:

Sumo strong kick:

Personally, i still prefere the normal one, but i will surely use the sumo kick, if not as the strong kick i'll use it for something else  ::salute::

Hmmmm... Earthshaking/breaking special for the sumo motion?
Hey, I'm watching your progress with Hard Man and really liking what I see. Never cared about him before, but you making him interesting
Talking about sumo - you can take shoulder tackle, 2 arms up attack(it's used during one of his supers, kinda tossing up) and throw from E.Honda. Might be even his jumping chest attack and hugging. :-?? Also Temjin from AOF 2 could be used for reference on some moves, like elbow drop. And KOF's Maxima's super where drops on enemy after explosive jump looks fitting Hard Man's style. Maybe even that Daimon's grab of flying enemy. :-??
Hope those ideas will help, keep up good work  %%-

You don't get it. What I meant is that he should really lift his leg high before stomping. Like this:

Yes, I was going to suggest Bunker Buster too.

In the Cartoon, Hard Man uses a move where he grabs Mega Man by the leg, swings him in the air then toss him. That could fit as his normal throw.

Do you mean something like this?

(it's not definitive, maybe i'll add some frame)

Unfortunately we never had the Megaman cartoon in Italy, or at least i've never seen it, but i know what you're saying. I've searched the fight between Megaman and Hardman on youtube and I think it could be a good idea...

I already did something like that. It's his body press attack from MM3

It's not the same, but it should work in a similar way.

Sorry for the double post, but I've finally figured how to make the animations play the correct way :)
I'll edit all my previous messages replacing the old and sloppy animations with the smoother new ones.
