Upgrading from Lowres to Hires Mugen

Hi guys, good to be back. I'm trying to get in on this hires Mugen. My MAIN Mugen is currently No Limit Winmugen with expanded default roster. Consists of 766 characters, 520 stages, and 237 pieces of sound. Looks something like this.

How do I move these characters/stages/sound over smoothly without having to start over? Moreover I like the current Mugen 1.0 screenpack. I'm kind of a default guy, is there any way to increase the number of slots there? ;D

Same way as you've always increased slots, system.def edit the rows and columns. In fact, there is a 95% chance you can simply copy everything apart from the screenpack over and it'll simply work.

1) Bring over your chars folder, stages folder and sounds folder into the new Mugen 1.0.

2) Also bring over the data/select.def file. Remember that in the new Mugen 1.0 you'll need to be editing the files in the data/mugen1/ folder. So make sure you drop the select.def into the data/mugen1/ folder

3) Open up your old data/system.def file and copy of the following information into the new Mugen 1.0 data/mugen1/system.def one by one:

Under the  [Select Info] section

* rows
* colums
* wrapping
* pos
* show empty cells
* cell.size
* cell spacing
* p1.cursor.startcell
* p2.cursor.startcell

You may also need to mess with the Big Portraits scales and offsets

Hi,

You guys are very informative. Acey I especially tried your advice. Much appeared to transfer over, characters and stages work like a charm, portraits seem the right size the only thing that needs additional scaling...

I need to find a way to re-center the icon picks then increase the size substantially. *sigh* looks like I got my work cut out for me. Just so I don't wind up tinkering with the wrong settings what are the ones that controls icons and portraits verbatim? I'm still looking in data/mugen1/system.def aren't I?
