Fragshark FX gameplay video with Brutal DOOM
« on: August 03, 2013, 09:05:09 PM »
For some people who had questions about the device, here is it in action via Brutal DOOM. I also don't use the mouse that comes with it. Instead I use a Logitech G500. The Fragshark's mouse is too big and uncomfortable. I just use the Fragchuck part of the device. The Fragchuck has 13 buttons/functions/keystrokes and the mouse has 10, non reprogrammable. I'll answer as many questions as I can, So far I've been playing and it's worked perfect for them so far...

F.E.A.R
F.E.A.R 2
Quake
Quake IV
Quake Live
Brutal DOOM (obviously)
Counter Strike GO
Timeshift
Borderlands 2
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Half-Life 2
Killing Floor
Left 4 Dead 2
Star Wars: Republic Commando
DOOM BFG Edtion

Hope you guys enjoy.

Here is the device...

And here are some stills of me playing F.E.A.R 2

TOOOOOOPPPHHHHH! sup bruh! long time no seen man. lol

yo that thing looks pretty snazzy. is it really easy to use? It does look very adequate for FPS big time for the Pc. which might be great since i hate using the keyboard to play anything!

hmm gotta find the retail value on this thing as i plan to get some games just for the pc. i wonder can this work with some RPG's as well.

Nice grab bro. ::salute::

Sup man. Yeah it's been a while.

Yeah man the Splitfish Fragshark FX is alright but the price is too high. It's $100 which is way too much and here is why...

the mouse that comes with it isn't any good. Well not completely bad but the problem is it's too big and this causes the clicks to be very stiff and you have to press the mouse clicks very hard. Everything else is perfect. The fragchuck (wii nunchucku looking thing) is the star of the show, I wish they sold it separately. I got the whole thing free though but wouldn't mind paying for it because it's very good at what it does.

I would not use it on a console though because console games are not coded for mouse look so you don't get the range of motion as you would a PC game with true mouse look. you get all kinds of stair casing issues. you can't move it diagonally or in circles. you get stairs and square movement and very sluggish sensitivity but it works perfectly on PC, despite the stiff mouse clicks

but I bought a Logitech Gaming mouse with 10 programmable keys. so between the fragchucks 13 keystrokes and the mouse's 10 keys I'm good for any shooter.

I have not tired this but I imagine how this would work.. analog movement. if you set it to "console mode" it will but the game must support a controller, and will need to allow you to use both in conjunction (chuck+mouse) Borderlands 2 and Serious Sam HD and Serious Sam 3 allows this.

But  I don't need analog movement in games that require the kb because if i'm using a kb, I'm going to get digital movement anyway so it doesn't matter. and with 13 keys on the chuck and 10 re programmable keys on the mouse, I can set a "walk" button anywhere but in the games I've played it with, I don't need a "walk" option.

but yeah man, ask me anything, it's an awesome device. wish they sold the fragchuck by itself for like $30, would be a killer deal.

Well it's the keyboard that I don't like using so that device wouldn't benefit me. First off, it only has 9 buttons it seems. And I don't know if you can program them. I assume you could though. But the Logitech G500 mouse has 10 buttons, all where I like having them placed and I like having 3 buttons on the thumb. But like I said, the mouse isn't the issue, it's the keyboard I don't like. I can use the fragchuck with any mouse. I used it with a Logitech M500 before I got my gaming mouse. So while that Logitech XIM would work, I prefer the G500 because of the button placement

yeah man the chuck is very awesome. everyone who has came over my house and tried it except 1 person loved it. Even my cousin in law, who has never played a shooter on PC picked this us and immediately adapted and was doing pretty good in counter strike GO. It just makes sense. Even my uncle who is not a FPS fan was able to use this setup with no problem right away.

again, wish they sold it separately

Logitech G700 is better than the G500. G700 has four thumb buttons and its wireless with no latency issues.
