yes it dose look a bit like an ex 4 but without the combos.
the gouken return is enough for me to buy it tho even if i don't like the gameplay very much.

now back to the story thing..usually fighting games have some side stories that gets developed on their own and by that you can follow the story you like...and that's probably what capcom did with sf ex story.

same goes for KOF..it's like an snk all actor game cus according to fatal fury ryo is an very old master, geese is dead,...etc
actually ryo should to be as old as geese cus he was a master to terry at one time.
yet you get to see these characters in kof (which has it's own story) in their young self with terry as old as ryo and stuff like that but still you cant call it a side story cus there you have iori, kyo and the whole orochi story with rugal  that is basically the main snk story.

so you see some characters can die in some games and still live in others. so it dosen't mean that one story is wrong and the other is the right one.
as for kairi and akira it dosn't really matter if the game was made by akira since it's supervised and approved by capcom...akira was just a 3d transition tool...also they cant bring a nobuddy like kairi and make him a boss with a dark hadown in the sequel for no reason now can they? they probably though that they will continue making more ex sequels but it never happened.

same in tekken games every character ending is basically saying that he won the tournament.
still the actual tekken story focuses on the Mishima Clan..so actually none of the supporting characters ever win.
take paul for example...see its always either kazuya, jin or Hiehachi wins the tekken tournament and takes over yet you see see in other characters ending that they have won.

as for ppl dying in tekken eventually .. maybe but the whole mishima clan will not probably die considering the devil gene and all that..i mean jin , kazuya and Jinpachi Mishima all have the devil gene and are probably immortals.
so why not Hiehachi? i mean namco cant just skip his life time from his 40s to 70s so he could be killed.

story is what's make the game interesting for me

the link vkm posted shows that according to sf ex akuma was killed by kairi and that why he wasn't in ex2 and ex3 so that was ex story after all even tho it wasn't shown clearly in game.

most fighting game companies don't usually give one story like i mentioned above.
akira had to give some importance to their shoto character in sfex like making him the next main characters...isn't giving him gouki's position in ex 2 enough

you mean in rd games? well the game had 2 sequels one for ps and one for ps2 so i think ps2 could have handled the extra graphics if ps one couldn't.

as for poison i read somewhere that the whole woman or man thing was done my saying he was a man who wears female body parts or something that gives his body the shape of a woman not a transsexual...i read that this was the final word on poison.

if i was wrong peeps then my bad but what i said earlier is what i thought was all true. because i did take some time and read capcoms official story for streetfighter alpha and up to street fighter 2....well not all of it but most of it. capcom does have a site or two that tells everything in its accurate order like what happened and when and all that stuff. i dont remember where exactly it is but then again i dont feel like searching for it anyways because capcom will say one thing then go back on their word about which is real and which isnt in a heartbeat so i guess its completely safe to say that we all will never know the true full story so with that im droppin out this discussion about the story. i wonder what moves gouken will have? i hope is shoto style but when u play as him he doesnt feel like a shoto. kind of like dan except more defined and more or a skill defense style with power and a few speedy counters
