lol @ Nilakantha's post

Funny, but Vyn's Juri is very good. Once he gets over the "pressure of winning", he can become a real threat imho. I'll keep training you to rise to the top, if you're on this weekend (saw you Saturday, but I got caught up in racing...again  :) )

I haven't gotten any requests to be friends from anyone I've met online while playing SSFIV except for those that I know already, like Gaijin and Trasgo. Which is fine, 'cuz my friends list is huge already from other games I play online  #:-S

Btw which character does everyone see used the most online? I've only done Endless Matches and surprising everyone comes in with a variety of characters. Not many Shotokan players like I had expected to see.

Though I haven't played online yet, I have mainly been playing the CPU on hardest in which they do things that are not humanly possible like E. Honda will do headbutt+command grap after another.  Seriously, you block his headbutt and its a automatic grap, you jump over his headbutt and hit him from behind its another automatic grap.  Ryu, Ken, and Gouki have the dumbest recovery time ever unless this is only speaking towards CPU.  Juri has quick jump kicks, but I found it strange that Ryu shots a hadouken in which I jump over as soon as he fires it to jump kick him and he hits me with a shoryuken while in the recovery frame of a hadouken.  Also CPU knows what button you are inputing so when you get knocked down and the CPU is closing in on you, if hold  :4, then they hk sweep and if you hold :4 :1, then they overhead you.  I really want to play some humans, because when I beat the CPU, I still don't think it improved my game.

I get crap from computer too, its usually abel and y.hawk with humanly imposible grab attacks after safe dive moves.

What i fight the most is ryus by far, and since i use low stamina characters the most he is usually a pretty decent threat.

Oh yeah T. Hawk is God in this game, if his CPU wasn't bad enough, I was able to catch other peoples videos online and saw what a beast he was.  Almost afraid to go to Season Beatings this year  :-SS

Of course they can man, we just bitching. Online t.haws are the new zangiefs, all they do is spam that dive move which has crazy priority and that if blocked pushes T.haw back meaning you cant punish simply by blocking and a small as hell recovery window to keep spamming, guard or whatever they want, then if they get close they spam their double knockdown kick and if it fails they go for the redardedly ranged grab attack and take 1/4 of health. So far i can manage a decent fight with Juri cuz of her angled projectiles and speed but get my butt handed down to me with fuerte. Damn t.hawks.

lol i know what you mean,  i have been using t.hawk recently :cool
some things are still pointless tho, like zangief's new ultra.. it's very hard to execute and land while focusing on the fight, still id dose a small damage compared to the other ultras .. unlike able's new cheap ultra @^@

@.:K.I.N.G:. : Thanks...although I still have a loooooong way to go before I can even match you  :D

@Vyn: I used to think the same thing, too, until I played .:K.I.N.G:. , so I believe it's possible, for Capcom set things up specifically for each character to excel in certain areas. Just a matter of studying until you know the ins & outs to winning no matter who you use or who you go up against.

Lately I've been seeing alot of Guy players. Not like everyone I meet is using Guy, but the ratio of seeing him used online in the lobby I'm hosting by random players is pretty high & consistent. Only saw like two Ryu players and one Ken player. Gouki is used by friends, but they (like me) are switching between characters, so playing against him isn't consistent. Think the only T.Hawk player I've seen is .:K.I.N.G:., and he uses him like the computer but less cheap with the dive attacks lol ... but notorious with the grabs and stuff.

Im starting to practice with Akuma`s new ultra, Raging Demon is a great ultra as usual and somewhat ez to land id say against jump ins, wake ups etc but the new ultra is starting to look better to get out of sticky situations now that im starting to use it and of course it has the great bonus of being cancellable from his teleport. Now i just need to actually be able to use it in battle haha but the potential is there.

@ sabaki thanks bro, your guile is pretty agressive and ibuki is doing great too
i'm still training online as well, started to use dee jay and adon a bit more, hakan is next on the list  then will get back to my old pals e.honda and sagat :D

@ vyn the new akuma's new ultra is my favorite choice as well, you'll have to land it while the enemy is jumping near by or attacking tho.

I remembered a lot of people saying T.
hawk was gonna be lame in this game, and now he's a threat as I predicted lol. but like al big man he is still suspect to the poking game lol!! Don't give him a target and you'll be just fine.Cody is one of my personal favorites. not too much in sneaky tactics, but a combo fanatic will have fun with him. Does anyone know if the new characters will also have two alternates as well??

well T is a very good poker himself and if you guard it leaves you in perfect distance for him to grab you, another pretty easy technique of his. Not many players poke as him but the truth is he can, slow character my butt.

I was about to say something similar. It's not safe to poke at big characters, 'cuz you can do their special grab  motion while getting hit and when they recover they'll grab you due to their invincibility. This is even true for Hakan. Like what Vyn said, T.Hawk has some good poking skills upclose surprisingly. Probably won't be #1, but T.Hawk os top tier imo.

haven't met one Cody player yet. I may have to learn him & give jim an oline presence myself lol

Sorry to say it's because cody is just horrible, he always was.

His combos are easy to perform and damaging though.

Yeah I got punished poking T. Hawk, do not ever dive kick T.Hawk with Juri, because he will anti-air you or block/command grab you.  I manage to beat CPU T. Hawk many times, but I know humans can do thinks that CPU can't.

Naw, he's gotta have SOME  potential. I thought the same about Guy until I met one player online who used him same way like in Alpha series AND was dominating the competition. Cody just has a bigger learning curve, I bet.

I think Cody is relatively simple to learn and his combos are pretty nice. His anti-airs are like excellent.

thanks for that combo vid for cody!! got something new to learn with him. but don't sleep on him. my only beef is that they took his air throw away that he had in alpha 3 :( that was a dumb move on capcom's part. but he is still my boy and i hold it down with him. off topic we need someone to make epic beard man for mugen lol!! if anyone doesn't know who he is look on youtube lol

lol i played against a cody player and he was a very good competition, cody is very powerful and you can win easily once you know your way around his moves and advantages....you don't even need to use the knife at all :cool t.hawk is nearly a top tier but i still think that ryu is the only unmatched character in the game, ryu can beat any character real easy and the weakest character imo is fei long.

I think you are right on Fei Long, because on hardest I literally destroyed him.  You can see his counter ultra from a mile away.  I also feel that Ryu is still number one, but followed by T. Hawk.  I swear I just used him against the cpu hardest and actually got a perfect  :( on Seth.  That is not good.

seth's Ai is weak yet still better than sf4, in sf4 i used to get many perfects on him with most of the characters.

I'm not talking about arcade mode, when you play versus with cpu on hardest they actually combo, focus, focus cancel and know exactly what button you are inputting into the game.  Meaning they counter every button you push.  This was mentioned on gamefaqs and SRK where hardest cpu doesn't make you better as you are trying to beat the cpu at inputting your buttons.

For those who haven't heard, either by going to Capcom's site or to SRK, there's gonna be a sizeable patch coming out on June 15th that everyone should look out for. What's planned is more than a quick fix on some of (noticeable) but a new addition.  Here's a quick rundown:

1) Character-specific bugs (including M.Bison's Ultra Combo II "Psycho Punisher" doing normal damage on a counter hit)
2) Character-to-character-specific bugs (Including the 2nd hit of Ibuki's Sen not connecting on a crouching Chun-Li)
3) Ultras unblockable during time freeze (characters with projectiles can abuse this the most)
4) Super Tournament Mode

While the other 3 points can be reviewed watching some youtube vids or checking out discussions at specific forums and sites, the new Super Tournament Mode's gonna ad some new element to the online gaming scene. You can customize it to be a 4-man or 8-man bracket, can choose to either participate or not if you are the host, and drop out of the tournament anytime without messing up the tournament itself (your spot will be filled automatically and the current win/loss record will be adjusted).

You can read more at <http://www.capcom.co.jp/blog/sf4/saikyo_blog/2010/05/21_2239.html> (for those that can read Japanese). An alternative link is <Shoryuken - Super Tournament Mode Patch Squashes Bugs , but mind you that some of the translations are incorrect, so read at your own risk. Heck, if I get a chance later today I'll translate what's being fixed for the patch and write it here.

I thought that game was going to have survival mode like it did in the first SF4, but it makes up for it in the team battle..... :)

However, I'm still at war in Versus mode with the AI bison using his second Ultra.... ~X( What a battle..

I never really noticed the bugs in the game, it's look ok to me though  :-??
