Remember that Dudley being in the game is just a rumor.
Ono hasn't confirmed any other characters (other than T.Hawk, Deejay, and Juri)
Im praying he's there though  [-O<

i have heard through the different forums online about how some folks are seriously dissing the game. i mean cmon peoples! if you didnt like the first version of the game why do they even go on a rant about the second? its already been stated its not gonna be DLC but a stand alone game because of all the new content and additions they made to it plus sf4 wasnt made  with any intentions on adding extra DLC for it they way they have created new internal offerings.  I have ben a street fighter fan since it first came out wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back. this is something i look forward to and i am glad for one that capcom IS listening to its fan base on many aspects. especially in character rosters inclusions. For me it would make sense to make the game a stand alone game not fully priced becaause there are people who dont have the online feature to downlaod new content anyway. thats being fair to those who do not have xbox live. If all capcom cared about was getting your money then they would have made the game DLC only in conjuction with microsoft expectations. But we all must also realize that listening to your fans is not always a great idea and sometimes you cant take everyones ideas into fruition. too many i wishes and i wants to be added to a game and we all as gamers have different ideas of what would make the games great for us and not just everybody because we all want different things. even adding in new characters is a chore. not just some feat of ohh let me just poof this guy in cause 500 people wanna see this character in.  well what about those people who do not play as that particular character and why add them if they gonna take up more room for characters the majority would really like to see put into the game and will actually play as them? I am glad to be a member of this forum and the ideas that its members have and their feedback. even in mugen the same goes on in the community. people create THEIR  versions of what characters they like and not what everyone else wants you to add but at least there are those creators who truly do look for feedback when creating a chacater and releasing them. not all but most i would say. Since capcom is and has been listening to fans of their franchise i say we should all do a post of what characters you would like to see added to ssf4.  whether they take our wishes in consideration as a whole or not it is cool just to see they are indeed watching.  Infinity forever!

Next time Lando, try breaking up your wall of text into paragraphs..makes it easier to read.

The thing is people have a right to be skeptical of this title as SF4 wasn't exactly what the true fans wanted and was pretty broken too. It just had way too many serious problems and was dumbed down for the casual crowd..it wasn't a true hardcore SF game. Many people hate SF4, it was just too dry of a game and didn't have the depth that SF3 had. I feel it was somewhat a failure and a big letdown and not the quality I come to expect from Capcom. Heck, it wasn't even actually made by Capcom themselves. And Capcom is a business and they do only care about the money..which is why they are releasing it as a totally new game..to milk it like they always do.

They say Capcom listens to the fans? Well, if they listen to anyone it certainly are not the real fans..just the casual scrubs and what useless stuff they want tossed in for fan service (like all they want is more characters). If Capcom makes a Darkstalkers 4 like Ono yaks on about....then I may consider them truly listening to the fans. As that is one of the most underrated fighters ever and no one likes it nor cares. They have a lot to prove with this new SF and so much to fix, but if it ends up just the exact same title as before but with new characters tossed in..then it's just another failure and I hope SF just goes away. I feel they have milked this franchise for far too long and it's time to let it go...I mean most people have moved on now to other fighters.

Sorry to seem so negative, but the truth can hurt.

tl;dr - You can't please everyone.

...They say Capcom listens to the fans?...

They don't listen to the fans... they listen to the majority :P. Even if some people see it as a faillure, in Capcom's pockets, it was a success.

...Many people hate SF4, it was just too dry of a game...

One of my bros doesn't like it and has stuck with HD since HD came out. On the other hand, my other bro went from HD to SF4 since SF4 came out and hasn't gone back. I myself wasn't too interested in SF4 when I saw the vids before it came out. I actually found it better than I expected it when I played it and it pretty much took over 100% of my game time. Now I just divide that time between SF4 and MvC2.

wow , people commented on my comments! thats whats up and thanks for the old school but still school style of paragrahing. i forgot for a minute. forgive me, i am old. lol. but i feel everyone on their opinions and i do only say they are listening to fans cause of a site i was on said that this time they are taking some fans thoiughts in consideration. well we all know how the majority rules even if you voted the other way. it is what it is. unless we can make the game ourselves then yeah we got something to truly prove , other wise, its their vision not ours, we pay for the ride, whether we like it or not is soley up to the consumer when purchasing or renting the game.

trust me, someones gonna buy it. lol.
i consider myself a true die hard fan of street fighter series. i have played every version of the game ever made and i can say i pretty much took them for what they presented. i am an oooooold head in gaming and fighting games. i wouldnt call myself a hardcore fan, nahhh niot ever. i have been around long before the first street fighter ever was even a thought.  But i am very proud to see the franchise always reinventing itself. any game in the industry could have been made with better tweaks to gameplay and graphics and such. even in MUGN someone always thinks they can do a better job than the creator of a character that has been made. As a die hard fan of street fighter, i say SF forever and capcom keep dishin it out and i will keep playing! lol

you are certainly right and certainly wrong on that note right there.  we do have a right to be skeptical but we dont have the right to make them fix it the way some of us want. everyone wants something different . wether a fan or just a casual gamer.  I am  Big time Fan, love SF and KOF series. they are benchmarks.  Me and quite a good ton of true Fans  learn to master the things a skeptical person would not take time to really enjoy.  I havent played a game yet that is 100 percent perfect because there is no game that is.  Yes i can be skeptical of a game cause it doesnt have all my particular wants. but as a Fan i know not to expect everything i want in it.  If i did then there wouldnt be a reason to make sequels to games or buy them. its IMPOSSIBLE to have it every way everyone wants it.  But i surely do feel you on everything you have said. The truth may hurt but in every truth lays a lie and both can set you free depending on which path you take, free will is a B@#$ch! LOL . aint it?

I somewhat understand what your saying Lando and I'm a very old skool gamer myself..been around a long time. But my path led me to become quite a jaded gamer and very skeptical of game companies. I'm very fickle as most gamers are and I'm also stubborn so I still stand by my opinion that SF4 isn't all that great and needs lot's of fixing. But I think I just don't care for it in general as I never liked the graphic style..I thought the models were ugly as sin. I also felt the game was way too slow and had a broken system where you can just crouch jab your way out of everything...particularly with Balrog.

The game was just dumbed down for the masses too much in my eyes, it was taken away from the core players and made easier for scrubs. SF is not a series for new people, it's something meant to be a challenge and needs practice to get good at...you should have skills to be able to get anywhere. Now that has been taken away and people can just button mash. It's sad to see SF turn into a shadow of it's former self. SF should be getting faster and more technical, not slower and easier. They basically ripped out all the fun I enjoy from SF. I still force myself to try to like it, but to no avail. I want Super to be what the first version was supposed to be, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up.

You can't mash and be good. While it may be easier to play than say Third Strike, Street Fighter 4 actually takes alot more skill than you seem to think.

Not really, (crouching jab Balrog seems to think otherwise) SF4 is nothing like SF3 and it's a total scrub game. It can't even compare to the masterpiece that is SF3. The controls were dumbed down and given shortcuts, the game was slowed down and made so much easier for people to access. It's not a skill based game like it's former brethren, it's basically SF for babies and grandmas. No thanks, give me back my hardcore SF Capcom...stop dumbing stuff down for these scrubs and people that only played for the first week it came out and then just got bored of it anyway.

I STRONGLY disagree with you. Street Fighter for Grandma's and Babies? I think you went a little overboard with that

Hardly, SF4 is nothing more than a cheap dumbed down SF made for the casuals..period! But I'm obviously explaining this to the wrong people, so just forget it. I know what I'm talking about and there are plenty of competitive players who would agree with me. But if you enjoy what Capcom slapped together and tossed your way, then more power to you. I just don't care for it, from the moment I saw it and finally played it..something just didn't seem right. I just said to myself wtf is this crap? This isn't the SF I know. But what do you expect when Ono-san is put in charge of it and hands it off to Dimps of all people. Simply put, it wasn't what I wanted and I'm sadly disappointed in Capcom. Maybe next time it will be better, but I have serious doubts.

A strong oppinion is always allowed, but not neccesarily the veiw of many. In this case my friend, you're in the doghouse.
Meanwhile, I almost got banned from Xbox Live because Dan rapes everything put in his path.
I was formerly the top ranked Dan in the world, but I stopped playing for a while and rusty. Now I'm climbing back up with some breaks of ODST in the middle.

Things were made easier to attract newer people... I think I remember reading. But they added the focus attack stuff to add some complexity into the gameplay. I think it has been mentioned before that it is not as deep as SFIII, but then again some people didn't like SFIII enough to get into it. So I guess, those who weren't pleased with SFIII prefer SF4 and those who liked SFIII aren't too happy with SF4...  :|

I hated the idea of sf4. i was sf3 all the way until i played sf4 (i bought it day and date just because it was the new sf) after i played it i realized something while it might not be as technical as sf3 its sure a hell of a lot more fun and seeing how its a video GAME, fun trumps all.

You seem to get really annoyed when people don't agree with you. :/ You can't expect everyone to think the same way you do, especially in a thread thats praising the SF4 series.

Each Street Fighter series has something different within it.
SF had punchboards and broken wrists, and the people who play on those would call us pu***es for using controllers.
SF2 had combos and one supercombo and they would call us pu***es for using multiple supercombos and relying on them.
SFA had multiple supercombos and they would call us pu***es for using a parry system to not take the @$$-whippin we deserve.
SF3 had a parry system and they would call us pu***es for using a focus attack and a cut-scene style super/ultra combo to take breathers mid-match instead of staying right in the heart of the action.
Its just another situation where its "to each his own".
