But man... Sakura but no Karin? Karin was one of my favorites.

Yeah, that's a shame.

I would've wanted to see R. Mika in as well, but with the addition of Hakan to the roster, SSF4's quota of grapplers is filled for now. :( Maybe in the next edition (Super Street Fighter 4 Turbo, anyone? :P).

But hey, at least Dudley's coming back, as well as Ibuki, the Final Fight crew (minus Rolento) and Adon.

It's time that Adon reclaimed his title of the mightiest kickboxer in the world! XD||

I look forward to this new version of Streetfighter IV

I grew up on SF2 using Ken. Not everyone that uses Ken is a scrub. Ken just happens to be a favorite of mine.

I wouldn't hold my breath. This will only happen if Capcom somehow merges with SNK (which might be likely, considering how things have been going for them lately).

Meh. I don't really care for SSF4 if they're not going to add R.Mika or Guy. I'm going to stick with my original copy of SF4.

Personally, I'm less concerned with trivial stuff like characters and more worried about the stuff that really counts. Like if Capcom will actually make much needed balance changes and other technical stuff like fixing the hit box issues..etc. If this just turns out to be just the same exact game with just new characters tossed in....then it's not worth it and just a waste. Even worse is there will be no arcade version at all so that means it will get ignored in Japan and not be taken seriously or considered for tournaments..this is a straight to console release. But since it isn't coming till spring next year, a lot can change.

I'm not a tournament player, so from my standpoint as a casual gamer, I am more excited for the new characters than the gameplay tweaks.

This could effect the SF franchise as a whole, if it is no longer a arcade release and nor taken seriously by Japan...well you can kiss SF goodbye. Heck, Capcom has already stated that they don't really want to continue the series...this could in fact be the last SF title we ever get so it's quality and acceptance is very important. Balance fixes are very well needed as SF4 is very broken...do your homework and you will see. But casuals don't care obviously, which is sad...and the reason SF doesn't get better as Capcom seems to listen more to casuals than the hardcore players.

No need to fret, because thanks to Chosis (of the Mugen Guild), it seems that some info on the SSF4 site's blog confirms that they're not completely ruling out the possibility of an arcade release in the future:

By the way, I meant to say that Adon should reclaim his title of greatest Muay Thai warrior. Sorry, I forgot and mixed up his style with kickboxing. o.O#

I know about that, I just recently saw it at another site, but that blog was in Japanese so it's translation was sort of crude, but if anything it all depends on demand and right now people are in a uproar about there not being a arcade release. Ono said there would not be one, but he seems to have made everyone mad at him for this and it could cause some serious backlash so he should really reconsider his decision.

This part of the Famitsu interview translation intrigues me:

Quote
-Please give a hint to our readers!

Ono: Since we're developing this game completely based on fan input, maybe we will include the character that's most requested on our official blog.

Who could it be? :-??

More characters? There is enough already, stop it Ono and fix the game...it's broken and needs to be balanced correctly. Why add more characters when the current one's still need massive fixes? I have a bad feeling about this game.

Well, they're busy fixing the 25 existing characters of SF4 and he said that there's only 8 new characters, so I wouldn't worry about it that much.

I mean, it's not like Super Smash Bros' and Dragon Ball Z Budoukai Tenkaichi's big jumps between roster totals, or anything.

I just don't want this to turn out to be nothing more than the same exact game with more characters..it's boring and not worth any price and totally pointless. This is Capcom's chance to fix everything that is wrong with SF4 and make it a actual solid game, but we are dealing with Capcom here and they always take the lazy approach to everything. So, to be honest I'm not expecting much from this game and not going to get my hopes up either. Any fixes they do could go either way..good or bad or even break the game even further. I really wish they would listen to the fighting community..the true hardcore players or at least listen to the top tournament players so they can get a good idea of what needs to be done. But Capcom are more interested in what the casual want as they are where the $$$ is...so instead of fixing stuff they screwed up they listen to all the babies whining about fan service and what dumb broken character they want needlessly shoved in. I don't care about who they toss in, if they don't fix anything for the better then it's a pointless update period. You can have all the characters in the world, but if the gameplay and system are not solid it's worthless. End rant :P

Of course that doesn't mean I wouldn't like having new characters, as long as they are not just tossed in for the heck of it and they are solid characters. I'm hyped for Juri for example, but that's cause she is a truly brand new character that looks to have potential.

Well, that depends IF whether or not Capcom can tell the difference between casual and hardcore players...

Then again, since quite a few of both tend to whine...the lines get blurred a bit and it's kinda difficult to tell (no offense). ???

Here's a new interview with Ono:

http://ps3.ign.com/dor/objects/35905/super-street-fighter-iv/videos/tgs09_sf4_inv_093009.html

Besides things that were mentioned already, he says that:

- the characters will have new openings and endings.
- he wants to do a new Darkstalkers game.

 >:-(-| Dare to dream, Ono. :-?? I'd like to see Amingo make his return in one.

Ono says a lot of things, but never seems to deliver on it. Most everything he says contradicts with what he actually does. So it would be wise to take anything he says with a pinch of salt.
