Daigo international SFIV champion?
Not surprising seeing what a monster he was in SFIII 3rd strike, although i would expect someone else to be crowned champion(maybe the sponsor just "made" him champion, just like what happens in many sports nowadays)

If he jumps, Hadoken was gonna hit him. Focus attack still takes damage, get's hit by next Hadoken, more damage. Seems like Daigo knew what he was doin'.

More than likely, seeing how Capcom likes to do business that way. There will be a SF4 Dash/Champion Edition...and most likely more revisions. Capcom always does these to make more money and milk the franchise. I wouldn't expect anything like that anytime soon though.

Here is all the info regarding the Championship Mode ;)

UPDATE TO STREET FIGHTER IV: CHAMPIONSHIP MODE COMES FREE

Capcom is bringing new options to Street Fighter IV with an eye towards serious players. Street Fighter IV’s Championship Mode update expands on the fighting fun by offering players the chance to compete in tournaments and to watch replays of the best tournament matches. Best of all it comes to you at no cost. The Championship Mode update will be available for both PS3 and Xbox 360 owners on Friday, April 24 (exact times TBC).

Championship Mode offers you the chance to compete in five different grades of tournaments, creating the right challenge for players of every skill level. You’ll score Grade Points (GP) for tournament wins, and as your GP total grows, you’ll become eligible to enter into more exclusive tournaments. Winning tournaments will also net you Championship Points (CP). CPs are like “prize money” up for grabs in the tournament. The higher the GP skill of the players in a particular tournament, the bigger the CP prize!

Replay Mode allows you to select and watch the best Championship Mode tournament matches.

- On the PlayStation Network, you can rate matches while you watch according to characteristics such as “awesome” or “funny.” Replays are then ranked based on these vote ratings.

- On Xbox Live, instead of rating the matches, you can choose to download and save your favourite replays to study the players’ techniques. You’ll also be able to turn on the input commands from both players to be able to review their button and joystick motions in precise detail.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's how the tournaments work in the Championship Mode: Tourneys are divvied up into five different levels, making it possible for players of various skill levels to compete on the same footing. Like with tournament play, character selection is "double-blind", meaning you cannot see who your opponent has selected for his fighter. Player score Grade Points (GP) for wins and can use their accumulating GP total to enter higher level tournaments.

Those who win tournaments get Championship Points (CP), which Capcom compares to "prize money". So fighting against players with higher GP means a bigger CP purse. The top 5,000 CP leaders get the option to upload replays that are available for everyone to watch on both the PS3 and the Xbox 360.

The PS3 version lets users vote in real time on things they think "Funny",

"Awesome" or "Beautiful" — and vote every 30 frames (which is 2x per second). There is a cap to avoid total spamming, Capcom points out. Voting is not possible on the Xbox 360 version; however, as we posted previously, players can save their machines and see which inputs players are using.

"The new tournament system is totally addictive," Capcom's Seth Killian tells Kotaku. "Winning takes you higher and higher, but even if you get knocked out in your first match, there's always another tournament starting immediately, so you're never out of the action. With replays, if you're a junkie for great Street Fighter matches like I am, you basically just got the best cable channel in the world for free."

Last, but most certainly not least, disconnecters, aka pullers, aka ragequitters, your days are numbered: If you disconnect during a match, the system will also dock you your progress in the tournament, so pullers will never be able to advance into the higher ranks of tournaments. What’s even more fun is that the system also happily displays your disconnect percentage, so if you've got a bad habit, it's right there for everyone to see.
