please DO NOT ENCOURAGE this kind of attitude. Feedbacks are made to be public so more people can learn with the errors, not just the creator himself. We all learns from each others.

For example, I think the Crack Shoot FX should be bind with Terry. If you see Don Drago's video, when you block the move, the effect still continues its animation.

wrong. youre confused with that -O-. Thats the standard way those CVS terrys FX with that crack shoot are coded. i did nothing wrong there. i did the same exact thing Warusaki3 did.

any USEFUL tips a person want to pass on is fine. here or in a pm. doesnt matter to me. if i fix it great. if not. move on. its not that serious with this character. this is only a hobby to me nothing more folks...


anyway latest updates.

no juggles on geyser kick launch & heavy punch launch.

no rush down with that elbow. its decent now. as much as i can get it

for the folks wondering if the combos are still lethal. yes. nothing changed.
You just cant keep kicking them in the air

Is it updated at my site yet? no but possibly sometime later tomorrow


for the so called pros here if you have a tip to code the lvl 1 geyser juggles properly so that they dont juggle anymore like that as in dons video just share it here. if not. then move on. period

Thanks, Sabaki, for reeling it in. Yeah, about my previous comment about people submitting troubles via pm, I thought that was really done at MFG. Sorry, I'm not completely into the mugen scene, so I'll make comments that are off sometimes. :-)

ok terry has been updated at my site. check the first page


-lvl 1 power geyser doesnt juggle anymore. axis on blast & bounce adjusted

-launchers geyser punch & kick DONT juggle anymore. one pop up each. you miss the rave you fail. no infinites

-Elbow juggle from dons vid seems to be fixed now. you really have to work hard to do that. but eh anyway i couldnt do that on dons geese howard when i fought him so i guess that elbow ta death BS is over

-power waves dont continue to hit enemies that are in a lie down state. all waves pass through

-EX power wave on hits lie down state enemies (temporary. i may change it)

-hit boxes adjusted much smaller on umtimate whirlwind punch. (still under observation)

-lvl 1 overshift buster wolf open damage and block damage are cut down

-lvl 3 buster wolf blast is cut down

- rising tackle damage cut down

-crack shoot damage cut down

-EX barbarian triple power slam damage is cut down

-perfect win state themes changed, sorry i decided to roll with the SNK win theme.

there will be more stuff. a good two more updates in fixes and im moving on

and please understand i made this for winmugen. i usually have the difficulty on the highest.
Im getting mix reviews on the AI so i may or may not ramp him up more. but we will see in a couple weeks'

All I have say is that replacing your Terry with Infinite's version was worth it. Infinites is still great but you had put ALOT more depth in yours.

So far I beat him with Strider by syn

It was even with me using Cyclops by lognair but he won most of the time =(  (Don't worry once I get use to his patterns Ill take him out =P)

His AI is challenging IMO me and him go back and forth on wins and thats how I like it. BUT there is one thing that really irritates me. Every time he does a special/hyper (after he is done and left open) he has invincibility frames that make him untouchable. Can you please remove that  :|

Feedback from me using Nightmare Geese by pots(edit effects by??) (btw cool special intro for Geese) against terry.

This is what I was talking about of invincible frames:

Rising tackle can cancel moves and hypers. It also cannot be counter by Geeses moves (JOUDAN-ATEMI-NAGE ,CHUUDAN-ATEMI-NAGE, and GEDAN-ATEMI-NAGE )

-Burn knuckle can bypass any projectile. Even Double Reppuken. (Cannot be counter when time right)

-All Ex moves bypass/breaks specials( Bypassing specials makes sense most of the time though), hypers (Does NOT make sense at all and very irritating), and counters (Bypassing Counters makes sense most of the time). Example I could cover myself with Raging Storm and he just bypasses it all and hits me.

-Hypers (What you call Supers in read me) should be fair and not automatically beat other hypers

cool. yeh V2 was supposed to be a step up of what Reza did in MVC. i wanted the whole MVC meets CVS and KOF thing going. i couldnt nail how MVC style combos were to be coded so i scrapped it and then infinite came out lol he beat me to the punch \-/o lol'

But anyway as for the invincible frames ill tone that down. ive been seeing a bit more folks griping about that. that will be under observation. i want to see who likes that about him and who doesnt.

The EX break throughs stay. that makes more sense than normal specials. EX take power to use and you cant abuse em that much. ill nerf the specials in that sense. im gonna fiddle around in that area of break through issues. so that will be patch update 2. then there will be one more after i see the feedback from the first two.

As for the hypers hmm lets say ill nerf most not all. this is a boss kind of character and i want folks to feel when they are using this terry at his maximum strength that he can break through assaults with his biggest attacks. the more tame ones i can understand though. like lvl1 ones and certain level 2s. but again ill fiddle with them. be patient. i got you ;)

Not going to lie. Fighting this Terry and playing this Terry is alot of fun. I haven't downloaded the latest patch though since school internet here sucks but one thing i noticed when fighting him with Infinite's Robert and Yuri is how Terry can stop on people's hyper's but when it comes to stopping his, and sometimes trying to combo on him, it is hard to stop him and sometimes even hard to stop him.

Idk if it is a bug or i have to show the video, but alot of times when i tried doing Kick's or hitting him doing the time he was doing a special, it would not stop him at all. But still great work and will download the new update when i get home from work.

yeah i havenmt gotten to get this update yet...i dont think i have it, been at work so much lately. lol. but imma get it and try some of the new updated stuff done since the release.

great character Kai for your first release and keep updating what you feel you can and want to from the good feedback your getting.  :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

i couldnt resist to add that move. i was trying to code it slick where he has an option of tossin his hat off after its over in the very last round too on a random state if he kills you with it and youd see party confetti n s*t sprinkle down and him saying "Lets party!!"......but sadly that wasnt working out  :(

I know you were probably thinkin "? yo wtf is going on?? !"   lol

haha its a cool move but its hard to get extra well coded AI characters to take the bait at times. haha so i did it kind of slick with his AI to not do it as much. it just happens at the heat of the battle out of no where lol


well im stabbin at that special moves issue now and a few other things. i cant please everybody but at least at can meet folks half way on both sides 8)


@lando: lol. have fun man. im just trying to working on doing these last major patches to him folks were askin about i agreed to do. some i can do, others are a bit tricky. so i may wait a hot while before releasing he last patch just to build up some things. aside of the stuff i saw in those tech videos i noticed other things i forgot to fix better but eh in the end my Violent Ryo will definitely have somebody to slap box with! lol

Updates:
 
-ALL supers are balanced a bit better. lvl 1 and 2 supers can get hit out of action. no invincible factors. only level 2 maximum burn knuckle has a slight advantage. Damages are toned down also. not a lot but a bit more. remember the theme of this terry, hes a maxed version of mines. so im not gonna dumb em down much
 
-Most lvl 3 supers are toned down in damage.
 
-The geyser quake has no invincibility at the start. only at the end when he gets a shot to strike the ground. thats for a few moments
 
-more hit boxes removed and resized a bit smaller. i wont go crazy with that because as i said before with the CSLN viewer 2 on the boxes it makes them look way bigger than what they are in AIR section. so i focused more on hit damage and block damage to tone down more instead. You can block all supers or dodge them, only one you can not block is the utimate wolf power. he breaks your guard. its intentional. Thats a level 4 move anyway
 
-Ultimate whirl wind punch hit boxes on initial start is smaller. you have to be a bit closer to the gust of wind around to trigger his full on attack. The spinning attack hit boxes are resized smaller. hits still do the job though. chip damage i toned down a taste
 
-ALL specials can not break trough projectiles. with the version you guys have now you can do that. it was a horrible mistake o.O#. i didnt pay much attention to those hit ATT rules lol now i see why certain code accuracy freaks were trippin. only specials that can break through are the power waves since its for the ground and almost all projectiles pass over it anyway
 
-Not that much invulnerability to rising tackle. severe up close but do have a shot of catching him out of it.
 
-ALL EX moves are nerfed properly so they cant break through projectiles, only ones that can do that are the AIR & Ground EX burn knuckle. I did it like that since those moves take power and you cant abuse it. so thats fair
 
-EX moves can pass by but not for very long.
 
-weak power wave is now the ground wave. short burst blast like vyns. same knock down effect
 
-AI slightly re done a pinch of V3 AI And tossed a trigger of V2s old AI aggressor in there. thats the last thing ill stab at a bit and that will be the last patch. im playing on ramping up his AI. just a taste.

Way better then last update.

I had to change his Name to Legendary Terry to make it sound cool and acceptable for Mugen to read it all.

So far I played alot of games against him (Nightmare Geese vs  Legendary Terry =P)

Anyway:

-His lvl4 special doesn't require 4 bars to use. I notice the AI abusing it couple times (I think when it hits 1-2 bars he could use it)

-Buster wolf Invincible frame still needs a little but more tune down. I do notice a chance compare to last time but the AI just abuses the Frame when I get a clear hit after he is open.

-AI also abuses EX Burning Knuckle invincibility frame after. As soon as I block it and ready to counter, I can't do nothing about it and he takes off with a combo or with rising tackle.

Thats all.

Next goal is tryna beat it with vyn's Rock =P

-The non restricted level 4 advantage the AI has is set like that on purpose. thats just "Kais so called boss syndrome". he can do it but you cant. You can always dodge the Ultimate wolf power. but you cant block it since it supposed to be a powerful guard crush on the first initial tackle. thats my way turning up the challenge of fighting him. Using him that super isnt lose to abuse. its limited to a lvl4 and your life has to be low.

The ultimate whirl wind punch is blockable. thats even more fair plus you have a change to hit him out of it as his charging.  i just made sure he doesnt gain power when attacking with those assaults so he doesnt have that much chance to do it back to back

Pretty much i see a lot of Boss syndrome created mugen characters with energy that refills slowly. i never liked that. well i should say i wasnt a big fan of it so thats why i decided to make his two death supers the only ones that give him advantage in AI on the first power bar and only when his life is low. Human players are a bit smarter to avoid them or dodge. and which nightmare geese? the high priority and broken one by Hiram Yagami? i gave up on trying to compete with that geese type a long time ago. his life refills and hes way more invincible than my terry lol

-As for the EX ill see how i feel about that. youre getting hit by two  frames of hit defs in that one move so i might nerf down one hit frame. The last one. But againwe will see. Hes supposed to be a superior boss like terry so i dont want to take away that theme and fear of fighting against a maxed out terry completely or most folks fun using him against other superior super power using characters like God Rugal and nightmare Geese. I dont tinker with authors characters i leave em as they are and i code my characters to combat those types too in that sense. pots characters is when i want a tame challenge while nightmare geese and those types i battle when i want that boss feel. ill be creating a "tame" character for those types too. just a bit more technical and jazzy.

Well folks i have one last update coming. it will be more so his AI...nothin too major but im going to see if i can juice him up more. if no success ill just leave that alone and have a separate patch to download in case i hit my mark with that later.

Yea that move and yes I spend time trying to beat him =)

Also I using POTS Geese with Nightmare aura edit by Dark Vader

Edit: Last thing his Parry honestly does make sense. Can you fix that? If I want to do a Low hit I believe he shouldn't be able to parry low hits with regular high hits.

@MK: Thanks for the intel man. he should be in my thread saying that. and hopefully hes not getting the source from another person or playing an outdated patch so far. Ive done hella updates already. one more and thats it.

Yeh i figured you fight em instead of use him haha. Never heard of that geese edit version. i dont know how much priority that geese version has. but no matter i updated terrys AI. and as for the parry that situation with the AI do you mean how the animation looks? you might be seeing this happen

when he parrys high he does my custom sprite edit i did


when he parrys low i used this sprite animation from the sprite pack i had
(original CVS stance of standing parry. looked better to me like hes parrying low. so it looks like hes standing blocking a low attack. but pay attention to where his arm is going.....downward^^)

I swapped out the crouching one i originally had. i was thinking more realistically in a street fight youre not gonna jump down crouching that fast blocking or parrying a well trained fighter. Your block will be more safe while standing parrying high or low. just watch the iconic fight scene of Bruce lee vs chuck norris and youll see what i mean  ;)



and with said here is the last update i did last night

1) I refined the the entire AI helper. hes a bit better on defense and that parry situation (if it was an AI issue) should
be fixed since i used a particular new solid AI method. and you cant always keep shooting fireballs from the air and ground at him. he will either block or parry or cancel roll. yes sometimes he will get hit. thats called "not broken and being fair"

2) His lvl 1 over shift buster wolf. CAN BE hit at the start of the rush in. AND at the end hes left wide open for an assault once youve blocked the full on assault. ive tested this my self 3 times using pots shingouki against him. i punished him after i blocked everything using a super dragon punch. if you cant do that then its your game play skill folks. step it up! lol

3)the small icon for the portrait at the select screen has been re sized properly and now it looks clean cut. i had to crop it a good 3 more times to get it right

You miss the chance youre screwed. so on that note ill like to add that now his first hit works like ryus hurricane kick. if open hit is successful instead of bouncing away the enemy he bounces them in, just right so that he can engulf them into the full on assault.

@MK: Thanks for the intel man. he should be in my thread saying that. and hopefully hes not getting the source from another person or playing an outdated patch so far. Ive done hella updates already. one more and thats it.

Yeh i figured you fight em instead of use him haha. Never heard of that geese edit version. i dont know how much priority that geese version has. but no matter i updated terrys AI. and as for the parry that situation with the AI do you mean how the animation looks? you might be seeing this happen

when he parrys high he does my custom sprite edit i did


when he parrys low i used this sprite animation from the sprite pack i had
(original CVS stance of standing parry. looked better to me like hes parrying low. so it looks like hes standing
blocking a low attack. but pay attention to where his arm is going.....downward^^)

I swapped out the crouching one i originally had. i was thinking more realistically in a street fight youre not gonna jump down crouching that fast blocking or parrying a well trained fighter. Your block will be more safe while standing parrying high or low. just watch the iconic fight scene of Bruce lee vs chuck norris and youll see what i mean  ;)



and with said here is the last update i did last night

1) I refined the the entire AI helper. hes a bit better on defense and that parry situation (if it was an AI issue) should
be fixed since i used a particular new solid AI method. and you cant always keep shooting fireballs from the air and ground at him. he will either block or parry or cancel roll. yes sometimes he will get hit. thats called "not broken and being fair"

2) His lvl 1 over shift buster wolf. CAN BE hit at the start of the rush in. AND at the end hes left wide open for an assault once youve blocked the full on assault. ive tested this my self 3 times using pots shingouki against him. i punished him after i blocked everything using a super dragon punch. if you cant do that then its your game play skill folks. step it up! lol

3)the small icon for the portrait at the select screen has been re sized properly and now it looks clean cut. i had to crop it a good 3 more times to get it right

The site is updated with the link now. Check the first page for my site. Be sure to be mindful of my update dates.
dont mix and old update with the new one.

1) The standing power kick (weak kick & medium kick) has been fixed so that it doesnt juggle bad like the launcher hits.

2) The lvl2 maximum attack super has been nerfed down so that you can atleast hit right after the assault it is over much faster. not much invincibilty time after he cools down from rush in of hits.

3) The KOF 12 critical counter has been refined again. i realized after i fixed the juggle issue with heavy punch and kick launchers the critical counter became buggy. so now its a matter of hitting a different set of buttons (read the move list for more details). For example instead of stead of triggering the feature with HEAVY punch close (the upper cut) or the close HEAVY kick (high kick) you now can hit a standing medium punch. thats one new way. and then you can button mash an chain into certain supers.

4) Terrys EX power wave voice has been changed around

5) The lvl 1 Live wire power geyser has been refined again to Juggle much better properly

6) Lastly, the AI? all i can say is i will be posting a lot of random AI combat (watch mode) videos and me playing against terry just to show how unbroken he is (he can be beat) and to show the better update of the AI i coded in him so that hes way more responsive and defensive. Thats all i can do with AI entirely at this point. i will do no more with this character. "BEWARE OF THE TWO PIECE SET UP" 



@ jethroyo: That AI issue where he doesnt parry low as much is totally fixed now. i had to adjust some variables so that he totally utilizes ALL is defenses. There was something about AI coding i kept dropping the ball on and now i finally got it ;) And ive shortened the name to Legendary Terry Bogard

"post" final patch update now at the site.

Its more so for the low parry issue that i thought i fixed in the last update and the blocking he does in AI.
I tightened those areas up and he doesnt spam the burn knuckle in projectiles poorly

UPDATE:

I updated the site link again today..

Another juggle issue i found that i forgot about and i fixed that

1) the EX power slam has no more infinite juggles in the corner. Its now set like my launchers. you can can set enemies up for air raids one chance. no re catches though

2) AI Block priority is on high. im going back n forth with randoms so now the dodge rolls dont happen as much as before. he more so blocks and guard cancels. so the challenge of that for human players in full effect

3) ALL EX moves i removed the not hit factors. onky two moves have that now and it only happens on the 5th frame of animation. the EX rising tackle & the power charge tackle. and yes even the burn knuckle EX moves you can be hit out of. I had to study the rules of coding EX moves. somethings i didnt know actually. so that clears up the whole invincibility issue
&

4) The FX for the full power stance has been updated with a slight flash effect how i wanted from the start. special thanks to mach5 on the issue
