Iron Man 3 Discussion Thread

The movie is coming out in a couple of days(between April 25th and May 3rd worldwide), so it's time to make the official thread to discuss it. And please remember to use the Spoiler tag when posting something important about the movie plot.
I'll go to the cinema on thursday, so 'll keep you guys updated

Bumping it up!! I saw the movie this afternoon...It was great imo, some parts of it were pure awesomeness(the arrival of the "family" of armors, the entire rescue secuence on the plane, and the opening flashback for example).

I can't say i liked how they decided to use The Mandarin in the film, but it served its purpose well (you will be very surprised  )

I can't believe Pepper saves the day after all!!! Also, stay after the credits, as you will see a great scene with Tony Stark and a certain "friend" 

So overall,it's a very good film, it has some interesting twists and it showed a different Tony, who was still a bit shaken about the "New York Incident" that happened in "The Avengers".Still, i expected a little more for all the hype the movie was getting.

well im def gonna see it...cant wait...my only gripe and expect with of comic book fans is the Mandiran being....well "non asian"  or green...i mean com on the guy looks like osama bin laden...did they do that purposely so we (americans) would hate more...just my thoughts

The Mandarin not being asian should be the least of their worries...let's just say that you will be very surprised about him.

BTW, i don't know if it just happened by accident or not, but during the film, there was a moment when the movie blacked out, leading then to another Mandarin terrorist transmission. It might have been an error on the projection, but if it wasn't, it was very clever

I think Mandarin a character boring, if faithful to the comics would not be good, the red-hot mutants are much more interesting

The Mandarin not being asian should be the least of their worries...

I think all this race changing in movies are the least of our concerns. Mandarin was invented when the US had a subtle fear of communist China in general. Black Widow was a Russian villian but those days are long gone. And back when Electro and Kingpin were introduced into the marvel universe they didn't make black villians so I'm no so much concerned about race changes in the movies making them more real and relavent.

I read an article that Tony talked with the Star Lord during the credits. Either this wasn't released in the international version or it was removed outright.

The version of Iron Man 3 released in China is different then the US version. I wonder how this will affect other international versions...

Well i had a chat with hypersonic, he said that the us version has the star lord credits, i saw a different one (Australia got the banner ending)
i remember something similar happened with wolverine movie, where you see him in a bar at the airport hinting he was going to Japan, or was already there, then i saw another version with deadpool rising from the rubble
not sure if they were intended the same way, regarding international credits
if anyone does get to see the galaxy credit ending somewhere on the net pm me the link

Damn it...they pulled the same "secret post-credits scene for USA" thing again?  I'll just check it out online, i'm not going to the cinema again just for an extra scene.

I think as a Movie it was good. my wife, and wifes of my friends when we went to watch it, they liked it .... It has good reviews by movie critics etc etc ...

But as a comic fan ... mmm ... iam not quite satisfied .... I will not give any spoiler, but from the beginning you know that the Iron Patriot is not Normal Osborn or anything related to Dark Avengers angle .... i think that was a bad start .... the rest, judge it yourself guys ....

The ending with Bruce is a better ending I think than one with star lord because the whole movie is the therapy session between him and Bruce and Bruce just fell asleep because he didn't have the "temperament" to handle it =)

The change the us government made to War Machine made since
I never liked The Mandarin really, even when they tried to make him less raciest, he's still a bit raciest.
I dare say I like this version of the Mandarin.

The fact that A.I.M had been behind the Mandarin and his "Ten Rings" the whole time was a cool twist.
It makes Stane's actions in the first move make more sence if you look at him as someone who probably was working for A.I.M.
I'm just surprised they didn't give Tony, Extremis earlier in the film.

I'm still unsure on how to feel about the fact that the Mandarin was pretty much a scapegoat. Especially since the trailers teased at him being a legitimate threat. I do like the Iron Suits near the end though, and I think Don Cheadle did a much better job here than in Iron Man 2. Also Bruce at the end was pretty humorous (plus we finally have someone play Bruce Banner more than once  )

I watched this film yesterday and my thoughts where it was not as good as the other 2 Iron Man films.I did enjoy it the action was ok and i like the way it had a completly different story and a new enemy.But my overall opinion is i think Iron Man 3 is the weakest out of all the films some people may not agree with me
