May I suggest a version of him in tank and jeans. You can do lots of cool palettes from that.
EDIT: Oh, darn. I thought you were talking about Wolverine  :D
Sorry.

It would be nice to see Silver Samurai use normal size silver shurikens like the kind Deadpool, Elektra, Bullseye, and any martial artist would have.  Also outside of the Capcom series, Silver Samurai has never used elemental powers. A teleportation hyper with katana strikes would be cool.  Also in Xmen the game they did a great job with his voice.

I might be wrong but isn't that the same dude who voiced him in Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon?

In fact, it would make more sense if the just DOESN'T uses shurikens, since Samurais NEVER uses it.

^^ Exactly. This is just ONE of the nonsenses which Marvel did with their comics. A Samurai using a Ninja weapon, which are his sworn enemies, its like the devil using a crucifix.

If you read Thor comics and knows just a little about Nordic Myth, you will be shocked. Marvel really smoked something illegal when was doing Thor comics.

really? That's is not the opinion of many. Wikipedia even list shuriken as a weapon of Samurais.
Plenty of other sources list Shurikens as weapons of both ninjas and samurais. So yeah any simple search will reveal
that many more people consider them a legitimate weapon of Samurais.

sams don't traditionally use them.  like any kind of training i'm sure they are profiecient in the use.  but it seems a little beneath them.  it doesn't match.  the sams have armor so they probably think ninjas can't harm them...so the ninjas use this and many other long range weapons more often because going toe to toe is probably not a odd in their favor.  So it's just a matter who needs it more.  sams are tanks and ninjas are snipers

Same here. I consider my self a character artist. well versed in weaponry. I done reach on Ninja ans samurai alike and i've known them as an ninja weapons only. I know them to be misconstrued as an samurai weapon. Samurai laid there faith in there blade, the spirit of the blade. They draw there power from that.

my studies found them using:

Swords
chains/ some with small weights attached, a bladed scythe like weapon
cannons
spears/ often call poles tho usually blades on the ends
Bows
Blunt weapon tho not often

AND YES NEVER GO TO WIKIPEDIA  o.O#

Silver Samurai and Thor are works of fiction. it dosent matter if they are historically accurate or not. Most of the things in comics arent.

I received a message from a friend of mine which is specialized on this stuff.

Yeah, samurais, on the beginning, had used shuirkens, which were made using 4 broken arrows. But after the feudal era, the weapon were considered "not honored", and they stopped to use it.

yeah i just had to call up my cousin who is a Ninjutsu practitioner for 20 years and been studying the ways of the Samurai for about 10. What illu and Rage said are both on the money pretty much. The begining they did use those odd crafted version of a shuriken but Samurai do not believe in throwing away your weapons.  Ninjutsu is trapping, poisoning and all derivatives of assassination techniques along with sword and hand to hand skills. the use of shurikens , smoke bombs, razor jacks and such other stuff that ninjas use are regarded as dishonorable trickery and not true combat since Ninjutsu weapons are designed for non up close combat but they do have a large cache of  various weapons in their style for close combat.

The samurai adopts a "in your face and honorable combat' methodology  which before the armor wearing wartime eras they primarily used their Katanas and their tantō ( small sword) as their main weapons. The only long range weapons they would carry on their person that they didnt mind throwing away were darts ( very small mini daggers ) that were easily made by either themselves or local blacksmiths in sets that they could carry concealed
or if was a specialist in archery they carried a bow and arrow set.

alot of this i knew but my cousin  put alot more to me in perspective while on the phone a few ago. He tried to get me to convert from my style to his. NAHHHHHHHHHH! i am good. lol

If you wanna bring non-fiction into comics then you might as well just have them be comics lol

you know what bro.. if you truly decide to take out him throwing the shuriken.. i would say if going to give him a projectile attack , try doing him thrown the dagger/darts things that they actually do have.  :-?? but something to get creative with if want to and like the idea. Could even have an air version of it with him throwing it from the air at opponents .
