Yeah the plan was to become TGP.

I couldnt tell you whats going on with setting it up though.

It's a tad frustrating, but regardless of where I am at, some surprises are on the way.

Computer and Video Games gave you trouble about the name? Or Commercial Vehicle Group even?

The real reason for the name change was a concensus that we wanted to break away from the past. Really BDC, and I with our respective projects were all that was left there, and other than Jmaxx, and Whiplash, and a couple others most of the new contributors were a whole new group of new talent that really took the site under their wing.

Theres also Spookys desire to break the site into sections to deal with game consoles, and gaming talk and I guess the old site didnt have that capability. So he wanted a site where he and his crew of friends can talk X-Box, PS3, ect while still offering a Mugen portal.

So far what Ive seen it looks good, it's different if it works the way he wants it to. Hopefully people who may have never heard of Mugen will stumble on it.

I dunno, I am pretty much into individual character developement right now so all the site stuff isnt something I have time to get into. I hope it all works out.

:-?? I don't like that idea, revamping the site might be good but CVG, the name, has had a strong reputation, some negative, but it has a long successful history of success and variety in choice. Not to mention all the web videos out there that attract users. They try to visit cvg they'll never get there with their new wip. You really shouldn't throw out the name. I think that's the main reason why you even attracted so many was because you offered a pretty big variety there- Comics, VIDEO, and Games. That alone grabs the attention of an all ready big set of franchises like Nintendo, Marvel, Sony, etc.

Whatever happens though I'll visit and stick around but I feel like it could have that new forum effect where "it offers nothing yet, so why visit" kinda feeling.

Another point is changing a name won't rid you of all that bad publicity, unless everyone poses as completely new users  :D

How many years has CVG lived anyway? If it's long it would be a shame to activate the kill switch on it's name. CVG is like a staple now in mugen, it's up there with MFG,IMT,MI,& RS. A user can just mention cvg in a place like MFG and they'll know who you're talking about.   :)

I couldn't imagine Infinity Mugen Team changing their name into "Action Red Mugen" just because some creators left or Acey decided to retire. Mugen enthusiast visit the name on some unconscious level.  :DB:

"Aren't they already committing a bigger crime by stealing from gaming companies to begin with? Silly goose" :D

I guess if it has a negative impact then it does. It's not really up to me. Myself, BDC, and AA250 felt that was the name that Spooky, and Volzilla gave the forum, and it really wasnt us. We were Team Spoiler

I feel a little overwhelmed trying to help everybody out, and I just cant do it anymore. Spooky just isnt around enough to manage it, his interest in Mugen is shrinking so it was either he turn it into something that interests him, or close up shop because I am not going to run it by myself, and code, and bug fix everything for everybody, plus run the forum. I just cant do it.

I told Spooky I would likely move the Bat-Project, and non project stuff elsewhere if thats the scenario. To be honest I am still not sure it really depends if I get some back up, and people to moderate and run the site.

I think there is a solid crew of people who have been really helpful that deserve to raised up, and help keep order, but I hate those decisions fall entirely on me.

Not sound negative, it's not all negative. I guess I just needed to vent a lilttle cuz i feel like I have a whole lot on my shoulders when I just want to code, and keep improving my skills and knowledge.

dude i know exactly what you mean. as a young coder i can kinda see where you are coming from man. i just wanna code and expand my knowledge of coding as much as i possibly can to one day be called one of the best. i personally love cvg and lov what you guys do with it. and i really respect what you and the others do to make it a good site. its ok to vent because we all do it and sometime its needed. we are all human.

if help is what you are looking for then i would like to offer my help in any way i can. i would love to be apart of the team and all that, but i also understand if that is not possible considering all the stuff that has happened and what not. but i really believe i could help out alot.

I'll be glad when it comes back. I miss chatting with people there about mugen and everything else. It was a site with good people there to talk to, and be helpful for mugen info.

I MISS CHAT! :P

Anyway, can't wait for it's return.

indeed bro. indeed.

it was the place where i knew where to find my friends and fam at in chat. check out what was going on with their wips and yeah of course... chat! lol. nothin felt as good to come in the chat room and its like 15 people in there talking about anything under the moon and the sun. lots of sneak peeks, sprites that people wanted to show off and great feedback from each other. and the jokes... tons of them! lol. sometimes whicvh was alot of times i would be fallin out laughing and my kids think i was watchin a comedy show or talkin to myself. ...which i do sometimes.   :D

so imagine the face i made when i went to log in and saw...Gaming Panda.   i thought i hit wrong buttons., somebody hit my pc with a virus or even worse..  apractical joke being played on me the guys there.  :D . thats always been a cool focus when it was called CVG, not just being a good name for itself but as well.. fun people in the chat and others that showed each other cool respect.  even the trolls. yes even them.  Darn you Blitz! \-/o lol

Alright. So itès not dying, just getting it's name changed?

I think I can live with that. hopefully this way we can attract more people to the site if it doesn't feel like we only make comic characters there. (which ATM it does...)

Thats what were hoping to attract a wider range of the gaming community. Plus it sends a message to the community that we arent just comic oriented Mugen site exclusively, and hopefully some of the bad things that happened with CVG's past will be left behind. BDC,AA250, and I never had issues with MFG, or MI. We used their feedback, and learned a lot from it.

Also it allows us to bring back the nifty pandatar avy's again.

This shows how experienced people are now. So good to hear/see it.

Also, do registered accounts from CVG United carry over to The Gaming Panda?
