Got venom done just in time for you guys to enjoy him on the 4th! I would really like to thank spaceman and angelus silverhead for helping me with making sprites as with out these guys this venom would not have been possible. Some key points I would like to make about this Venom is that he is the classic eddie brock venom from as depicted in the 90s comics and cartoon and I did my best to represant this version of venom with all of his moves and abyltys from the older comics! I hope you all and enjoy and have a happy 4th!

sorry it's not your liking but the way I see it capcom kind of messed up with these aspects of venom as he never did such things in the comics or the cartoons. I tried to make him as close to the comicbook version as possible and more uniqe then capcoms version. ofcorse if you want a "venom web" you can always play the capcomed styled one already made for mugen :P

Well with the biting attack I can understand but I think you could get away with using Venom Web.

Also forgot to point this out but I love the win pose where it fades to black except his eyes and spider symbol

TOPS you got so much talent with these Symbiotes man! I like how you also focused your area in the coding as well! Dude he plays good! There are somethings I would change and tune but for the most part I like where he is going.

I would have liked to see him with the old hypers and specials along with the new but even without them I think you did a good job dude just like you did with the other symbiotes.

I would change that hyper background though and use kong's or something, and use another kind of hyper portrait. But that's me. but other than that....Dude I overall like this.......

I think your on to something with these symbiotes and I say keep'em comin'  I'm not requesting but I hope that your next one is LAsher because he is my favorite of them all

-The Web Throw looks really nice. Good job on that.
-No clsns on 'The Madness'?
-Last two hits of Varnage don't combo.
-Anim 41 is botched. It looks very jittery.
-I get a strong feeling that you used auto clsn for allot of these attacks. Please make the clsns yourself. It may seem tedious and boring, but if you do them properly, they can be very rewarding.

Okay heres some feedback

1st thing is I think this BG has more issues than Scream. This one is all out of synch, plus the washed out color.



Couple of the attacks 1 special, and 1 hyper miss at close range.





The hitboxes are still problematic in several senses. I know thats been a point of contention between us, and I noticed you posted a tutorial on hitboxes, but by in large I think the community disagrees with that tutorial



Heres a few examples











Also you have some issues with priorities in the following animations









This problem is kinda frowned on as described here



Then hyper 4 is missing hit boxes.

When it trasforms into the big venom you can hit him. However after he transforms he becomes unhittable, which isnt normally how it should work. Even the venom spit is unhitable. What I would do is add a hitoveride to change back in event of getting hit, or you could make the whole move into a custom state.




Also Z+C seems an odd command when you have an open hyper combination still left you can use.

I noticed some varied shading in him too where it looks more detailed in some sprites. I had similar things in Batman Beyond so I can understand how that is though.


I think youre using hitboxes to pull off certain moves to work the way you want, but it breaks the gameplay in other ways doing this. There are better ways to solve the issues youre running into that will work by far better.

I hope you dont take offense, just trying to explain why hitbox issues can cause problems since it was an area we disagree on.

I just hope visually maybe it can be explained since your version of carnage, scream, and now Venom all have this problem.

This has some fantastic potetential it just needs a lil more time, and some work in a couple areas

I like the idea of having a Venom with original gameplay. I always like when already made Marvel chars get redone with a new style.

Yea my feedback is the same as Alex only difference is i wish you put more intros and outros on him tired of chars with only 1 intro or outro gets to repetitive
