Scarlet Spider Help

I got a problem while I was sprite editing regarding the placement of Kaine's spider emblem on his costume in which I wasn't able to properly draw it so that it looked proportionate as well as correctly placed on his back. Oh, and since this is the second Scarlet Spider, I'll put him here in comparison with Peter Parker and Ben Reilly:



And also I have no idea where this thread goes, but because it isn't MUGEN related at all, putting it here is as close as I can get. You could try making your own rendition of the emblem If you want (that's why it's there), but other than that, I'm keeping my own while I try to learn how perspective works.

The Red and Black one, yes. But the emblem I created for the back of the costume needs major adjustment because the emblem you see looks more flat, so it doesn't look right. If you take a look at the Spiderman sprite, it looks more realistic.

I want to improve my sprite abilities as I move into doing more complicated sprite edits, and one of the things I'm trying to learn to do from this is perspective, and possibly, size, since I have no idea how this is going to look because of how little reference images I can get of Kaine's costume, as well as the fact that different artists draw Kaine differently.

EDIT 6/19/12:
Alright, I'm in the itch to do something a bit different from what I usually do; I'm thinking of doing a sprite sheet since summer time has arrived for me. I'm doing this by myself though. Dunno what else to say, but this may not just be a sprite edit anymore.
