Violent Ryo Wip

whats up crew. As of late i started cooking up my Ryo version ive been itching to do for a while since i started TerryV3. This is the very early stages but in the end he will be just as wild as My Awakened Terry. My Final and complete Terry Version is almost done (90%). I just had to put em down for a bit on the table because of work, life and plus i wanted to release him with some issues cleared up in him. But hes still coming though. Ryo and Terry maybe released around the same time possibly...


This Ryo is only 20% complete (pardon the lil video lag)


secondary stance i sprited up (and yeh Infinite had a stance like that done for his but i did my own plus im working on
another one for his Main stance. Old video btw. i touch that up a bit more after i recorded it)


Just like my terry he will have a particular combo system on the ground but of course the MVC style combo in the air. i always liked Mixture in my characters. Ive learned to better code the Hit pauses so that area is already Tight.

1)Will he have hella moves? yep.

2)Will he have as much as terry?...mm maybe but we will see^^

3)Will his AI be pretty tough? yep. You already know Kai likes an aggressive character AI.

4) Revenge supers? Yes....and i think youll get a kick out of those once they are complete

But what you see now maybe subjected to change of course...Im always thinking

5) His character theme in gameplay? A more serious side like His Father "big nose" Mr Karate. He will have certain moves like him so im going to try to sprite edit up more moves Ryo never had.

He does hien-Shinpuu Kyaku, then teleports behind you and does it again, then from above, then in front, etc. over and over again.

The one with Ryos face? yeh pay that no mind. that was actually for spidermew. showing him the tutorial he sent me to follow for a portrait issue worked and i fixed it. That portrait you saw isnt really gonna be the final visual...Im still searching for a good image to run with.

what up man. yeah im just pouring my ideas out since they are brewing in my head right now then im jumping back to terry to finish him off. we will see about the character interactions. For damn sure hes going to have interactions with My terry and a couple other characters i will be doing. the general CVS intros may happen. we will see

well im finally pulled off part of the move i always wanted for a Ryo....
My first EX creation Shin Shouran Kyaku

(i sprited up the grab look of that move and i got some sprite support from an old spriter comrad for the knee strikes)

For my tech heads here do know i didnt finish coding the move. the final hit is supposed to send the enemy flyin across the screen a bit

There will be a second Dark EX move where he uses his Air fire ball also after that....eh youll see^^

I adjusted the Game of the gameplay of the super Haoh Shokou Ken. A more option charge and hold if you want. The special FX  of the charge look im still trying to code and tweak better with that. i wont explain but the tech heads here will probably catch on to what i mean...small detail

Just saw your video, and I have to say, this was really intense.
From all the special versions of chars, only a few are really good. Your Violent Ryo could become one of these good EX chars, as long, as the rest is right as well.

The more i learn on coding the better the results are

Well ive taught my myself how to do more tricks with the FX n stuff and this time ive figured out ON MY OWN how to change the color scheme of ANY effect just by usin Gimp and photoshop alone. I wanted a red color for the energy serges to be red instead of blue so i tried my hand at doing that and i pulled it off successfully

(btw. right after the video was made i recoded the time needed to go into Idle stance. Before it took too long)

Yes i coded the Ryo so that when he goes into an idle stance you can see the serges pulsate along with the serging sound in sync with his animation. In time once i get my custom stance sprite ready to go as his main stance that idle stance look you see will become officially his max power stance. Again certain things i do with this character may or may not change over time. I plan to do the same thing with my Awakened terry also^^...

Haha and yes i also created my own Violent Aura to my Ryo. Its the glow Effect you see when hes charging up his Super Haoh Shokou Ken when you hold down the button. i was very anxious to come up with auras but no one would help me on that so i came up with my own in my own method. Yeh it looks rough but I plan to get better using PSP and PS for suping up visuals like that.

This is the official and Final Hyper FX style i will be running with. im still tweaking and yes i already made a red version of the hyper look and yes theres still the zoom portrait. I just deactivated it wile i was testing FX here....so pretty much im in the process of revamping awakened terry the same way.
