- Bitten by a black widow spider. I was sleeping in my own room (this was right before I moved out on my own), and woke up because I felt something crawling on my neck. I brushed at it, and felt something bite me. I jumped out of bed because I wanted to find whatever it was, but noticed a tingling feeling right around where the bite was. I went to the bathroom to look at it, and could feel the venom moving through my veins. When it reached my brain, everything went fuzzy and I dropped to the floor. It passed, fortunately, but I still had trouble breathing. I was freaking out and went to wake up my mom. We were going to go to the hospital, but it seemed like it was fading, so I decided to wait it out. I didn't want to go back to sleep, so I stayed downstairs watching TV all night. The next morning, I tore apart my room, and found the spider in a web behind my bookshelf. I felt sick for two days.
- I was out driving in my old Jeep, going about 50 mph, when the person in front of me just stopped dead. I went to go around them, but the @$$hole behind me cut around and actually forced me out of the lane. I slammed on the brakes, but since I was in the middle of swerving, I lost control. I ended up skidding sideways down the street, my front tires up on the sidewalk, and came to a stop about two inches from the car in front of me (my driver's side door would have hit them first). And you know what they absolutely HAD to stop right then for? They were going to miss the entrance to McDonald's....
- On vacation as a kid, my grandfather had a sailboat that we had used to sail from Florida to the Bahamas. We were on our way back at night, just a about 10 miles from shore, when we got caught in a a nasty storm and couldn't see where we were going. I just remember holding on for dear life while hearing my step-dad calling out "mayday" on the radio and trying to reach the Coast Guard. They never answered. Luckily, my grandfather spotted a lighthouse, and we able to make it back.
- Alcohol poisoning. I drank an entire bottle of Captain Morgan's in about an hour. Pirate-style. That would be straight from the bottle.... It wasn't a good night....
- Witnessed quite a few drive-bys. Wasn't in any real danger since the bullets always managed to be aimed at the other side of the street.
- I saw the Spice Girls Movie. In the theater. I had lost a bet with my girlfriend at the time who was obsessed with them.
