The outrage stems from a comment Bay made about his upcoming live-action flick at a recent media event .... in which he said, "These turtles are from an alien race, and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely loveable.”

The turtles are the only 4 walking talking turtles that exist, and they protect the same society that they have to hide from because of fear and prejudice. If you make them aliens from a turtle planet then all of that is taken away.

wow! thats an even more awesome question! i was just wondering that myself. how is he going to mess this up even more from the wack idea of...alien turtles? maybe splinter will be the mutant on their planet. 

MB is retarded but always pulls out millions on bucks in his movies. How da hell does he do it?  i just dont get it sometimes.

I suspect we won't be seeing any of the characters that are involved with the mutagen. They'll probably focus on the aliens such as Krang, or that race of triceratops aliens.

Matter of fact...dont make it. Burn every copy of the reboot and just leave the originals as the only ones to ever exist. thats classic stuff and shouldnt be touched....ever.

Micheal Bay has raped my childhood so much at this point I'm debating as to why I've even bother going to the movies. And then I remind myself that the Deadpool movie is in production and I feel better.

probably so. added in he gonna make a crapload of insane explosions and of course the staple of these days movies...3D! which i think is err cool only in certain movies. The story is gonna be so far off it wont even be TMNT we know. of us that actually grew up on the original movie and cartoon show are all old timers and so he might be going for the new upcomer kids who just got a dose of the reboot and gonna reboot it again. MB style. meaning....raping the childhood we all had. dang shame.

 true enuff. but now they have 3d tv's so thats gonna be null and void sooner or later. i was at best buy the other day and a guy in line wanted a 3d tv cause he figured he save money  having that tv instead of spending it all going to the movies since he patient with dvd releases. . 

they wouldnt have to drag me to the movies tho if they put out better stuff i would like to see .....and a worthy date .  .  like when i went and saw MK1 4 times! i was there and it was people there that been 6 times, 2 times in one day! i saw tmnt #1 at movies 3 times in a week when it first came out. loved it then and love it now as is.

i still say he shouldnt change it , just dont make it period. try making a new popeye movie or something. . even tho, i liked that too. .

Hmmm...kinda split on this one. While I LOVED the originals growing up, a LOVED most of the reboot more as it was a darker, more action packed version of the turtles...they were actually like NINJAS in the reboot. TMNT also built half off of the reboot rather than the original Turtles series from the 80s. I've tried going back and watching the 80s Turtles after the reboots came out in '03, and I just couldn't remember why I liked it. So, I came to the conclusion that I have to treat it like I treat most other new media; accept it or deny it for what it is/was. I LOVED the original Turtles movies (though I have to agree that Turtles 3 was kinda lame...even though it focused more on my fave Turtle, Mikey, than any of the others did), but I would like to see what comes out of this one. While I grew up loving and watching the originals from the 80s, I have been liking the reincarnations that have come of late. Thundercats, '03 Turtles, the three Transformers movies, they've been good actually. The exceptions would be like Transformers Prime (which would be fines if there were more characters and it didn't drag along so damn slow ) and G.I. Joe Renegade (the movie that came out from titmouse (I think) a year or 2 ago was awesome though ) What we fan of the source material seem to forget that these movies and things are targeted at a broader audience. Oh, and friends just reminded me that even the first Turtles movie seemed more like the reboot. Think about it: the movie was pretty dark. Now, I have to say that I'm not really up for the whole 'alien' plot, but I think I'm gonna see it at least once to see which direction he takes it. For all I know the origin is all that's gonna be different. I dunno...that's just my take on this...Oh and, isn't the directors job just to see that the vision fits the script? I thought the story itself was up to the actual writers? Correct me if I'm wrong...
