There isn't a better Robert than this, so instead of bitching about it, how bout you make one? Ya know, since you know so much about coding and can obviously do better.

Thanks guys for the support, but he gave me some really good feedback on things that I can definitely improve on. And I respect his opinion. So please chill. I don't want the mugen 5-0/ popo/ police coming over here and destroying my thread.

Robert
-Bad clsns. Some moves actually use 4 clsn2s which is quite excessive. You don't need to cover their entire body.
-_- 1 clsn that starts from their shoulders that extends to the ground and 1 clsn on their head.
(click to show/hide)

-Your projectiles actually have cornerpush. That's not a good sign
(click to show/hide)

-You've overused the wall bounce mechanic. There's absolutely no reason for every hyper to be able to cause wall bounce.

-Your headpos is wrong.

-Sink
(click to show/hide)

Fixed, still using the wall bounce but I took it off a few hypers.

Hmm, if Infinite Edits are really THAT cheap, I think, you should do an edit of an character, that is already cheap. Just think of Pre-To's chars. Some of them even have got the same graphic style, that your edits are using.

I didn't know they were cheap, maybe  :-??. Do you have a link to Pre-To's characters? right now I'm only doing Street Fighter or King of Fighter characters for the full game also but if he has some of them I don't mind taking a look at something.

Just search for the characters that start with "J_".
Also, I rather like to call them cheap, because of their combo linking.
But don't don't worry, it's not bad in this case. It's actually that kind of character, where you would NEVER give up, until you have defeated your infinited opponent.

Honestly stopped paying attention right here. I've never found Infinite-Edits to be cheap in any way, shape, or form, but more like that insurmountable obstacle you eventually have to overcome. Personally, saying that Infinite-Edits are cheap is like saying CCIronmugen characters or the Reu trio are cheap.

Oops, I think, I meant the other kind of infinite characters. The ones with the infinite combos.
Seriously, there was a character, that could do a 99 combo, and it was called an Infinite character.
But, to be honest, I never touched them. Not, because they're bad, it's, because there were no characters, that I REALLY needed... ???

As far as I know, none of infinites newer patches have inifintes, and if they did, you could easily just tell him he'd fix it.

This entire thing has gone too out of hand because some guy posted some legit feedback that some people take as "hate".

yep keep it cool peoples.

i have watched infinite grow well into how he does his characters from then to now. superior improvements and he still fixes things found. Yzan gave really cool feedback , i didnt get that slide down that robert did in the post he showed but its really cool he caught that and infinite fix it. def a good lookout and good feedback.
Man there are tons of cheap characters around in mugen and also what someone depicts as cheap in their opinion and some just very noticable. lol.

 Infinite's characters have a combo craziness that i find cool and a huge challenge to beat with some characters in the begining and as i got better at playing with them and against them, , they not as hard anymore. Good job so far Infinite on your Robeert and your other characters and the updates to them too. :thumbsup: ::salute:: keep em comin ....Swagg!

Explain why him making ( what you believe to be ) the best Robert should stop me from pointing out flaws that the character has? And how does me giving feedback mean I should make a 'better' one? That's just stupid. I guess I shouldn't post my findings even though the char has unfavorable clsns and a move that causes him to sink through the floor, right? I mean, he IS the best Robert. So everything about him is totally acceptable and should remain unchanged.

Never did I say could do better than him. How is it that Mr. Infinite can take this feedback just fine but you feel the need to try and defend him anyway?

Typical IMT fanboy whiteknighting. lol

Just downloaded Cody and Alex, and I have to say: My mind was just blown away! :o
Maybe, they can easily combo you to a game over, but they're so epic, that I don't even mind anymore!
Now, I want, that you make an Infinite Edit of Pre-To's characters even more.

Aside from this quote right here, everything you said was right on about what needed to be fixed and or altered. Great CC, although I did like the clsns on the rapid kick. It gave it character in my opinion.

That would be cool. I plan on using the cvs style sprites that Dampir did. If you are interested I will pass him your way win I start putting him together.
I'm not exactly the best at making CVS sprites, but I can damn well make the SNK-styled ones and convert! And I think if I like how it comes out, I just might Open Source the sprites in SNK and CVS form

-I thought I was wrong about this before so I made sure to recheck. Look at the spr section of the debug text.
(click to show/hide)

-Robert's goundbounce FX goes under pos y after a couple of ticks.

-The sinking error I posted earlier still persists in Mugen 1.0
-I suggest you add a velset = 0,0 to your landing states. Some of the air attacks cause a huge amount of sliding. I've noticed that you use
Quote
[State 1170, 1]
type = VelSet
trigger1 = time = 0
y = 0
Which is good, but you should add an x value of 0 or a VelMul.

-
Quote
Vel Y > 0 && Pos Y >= 0

doesn't work as well as

Quote
trigger1= vel y > 0
trigger1= pos y > -vel y

I think I fixed. I added the velsets but I couldn't the sinking to occur on my mugens, and they are all 1.0's. So, I don't know.

In Mugen 1.0 you can do the QCF B/C anywhere on the screen and it will happen. I found the problem though.
Quote from: State 1265
Vel Y > 0 && Pos Y = 0
What happens if your character's y Pos is 5 and his pos is increasing by 6 every tick? You won't be able to get to pos 0. The solution
Quote
Pos Y >= 0

Found some more stuff

Quote
[State 1265, 1]
type = NotHitBy
trigger1 = 1
value = C

Why?

Quote
[State 1265, 2]
type = VelSet
trigger1 = time = 0
y = 4.8

[State 1265, 3]
type = Velmul
trigger1 = time >= 0
x = 0.95

You got the right idea but you did this wrong.
The VelSet needs to be a VelAdd and trigger1 should be 1. The y value should be the character's yaccel or something close to it.

The VelMul should be removed completely. This causes the physics of the behavior to provide a smoother look and feel.

Just noticed something else related to air physics. In some instances of falling you use a VelSet. In other's you've used Gravity WITH VelMul. If you're already using Gravity then you won't have to worry about using another sctrl to increase the Y velocity because Gravity will do that on its own. You've created an inconsistency among your falling states because one group uses VelSets and the other group uses Gravity and VelMul. This also shows that you've only fixed the VelSet + VelMul situation in the state that I told you about. Please update all of your falling states with either a Gravity or a Veladd sctrl that's always active and is constantly increasing based on your character's yaccel(Not asking you to do it immediately, lol). I personally can't think of a situation where a Root character would need to use a VelMul for Y velocities.
