OC MvC2(ish) Character

I dunno much about MvC2 spriting methods but I thought this may be able to fit in here, thinking of making it into full character any suggestions? C & C welcome.

Well...
first, the shading on the legs are off, they're supposed to end right where the knee would be, but they seen to go way off
the wrinkles on the light shading area are out of place and just clash all together
You used pillow shading around the shading area on the pants with the wrinkles, Very, very, very wrong on CPS2 styled sprites
You seem to limit the colors to three, however they should be about 5, most important with the skin is shown more
the shading on the torso is very off for CPS2 style
Skin colors are weird, they don't exactly work
those are some big feet

overall it isn't bad for a stand alone sprite, but for CPS2 it needs alot of work

FIXED update

still very wrong for CPS2 style
The shading is all over the place, torso doesn't look right and the pants are just odd
the head looks weird
most of the palette is still limited to 3 colors
color choices are strange
shoes need work

it doesn't seem like you have the idea of how CPS2 style works

Don't worry too much about the details though, as you start working on more and more sprites you'll continue to work on the shading and certain parts of it should fall into place for you. The best thing to do is to recreate the image in real life then watch how the shadows fall.

well I originally edited the body from some Akuma edit (he had Ryuji Yamazaki poses)  :-?? FOUND IT. You can see the resemblance yes?


also tried to fix it up a bit, but I still need some more direction.

Good example, so:

* first of all you're guy isn't wearing a belt across the shirt so the shading shouldn't go dark around the stomach.
* in your guy the pants fall all the way to the shoes, where Akuma's are cut off before they hit anything, with this in mind you should be thinking about how the pants will crinkle as they lay against the shoes.
* Akuma has buff arms, your guy has a long sleve T-shirt on so the muscle shading is unecessary there.

That being said, some movements need extra frames, and there are some pieces that could use a bit of work.
