I chose Nancy Thompson. The cool thing about Nancy, to me, is that she's not your typical "girl next door who survives the monster" character. She shows herself to be very resourceful and insanely brave. Not only does she survive Freddy's attempts to kill her... she actually gets pissed and goes on the offensive. She decides she's had enough and goes after Freddy to pull his burnt a$$ out of his dream world to kick it all over the real world. She does, unfortunately, meet her end at Freddy's glove in Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (and he had to trick her to get her).. but not before saving Kristen Parker with her last act of stabbing Freddy with his own glove giving Neil Gordon the time he needs in the real world to properly bury Freddy's remains complete with holy water and a cross. The last thing Nancy sees before she passes on is Freddy's demise (well, for that time anyway
.)
