final fantasy vii core

has anyone played this. i got the japanese game and its awesome. this is why psp is way better than the ds. you could never get a game to look like that on the ds.  this game is awesome.

Gameplay > graphics IMO, which is why the PS3 is kinda failing right now :/ . I shouldn't have to pay so much money for games. Anyway this game looks pretty cool. I haven't even heard of it til now. Looks kinda like Kingdom Hearts, I gotta read up on this one. I would much rather play it on a console though, as long as its not on the PS3.

Crisis Core does look interesting. I actually ened up accidentally seeing the ending to it (But everyone more or less have if you've played the original game....)

In some respects, these new titles complicate the original FF7 story though (IMO, too many extraneaus characters are being introduced into past history, and it gets a little confusing), but it's nice to see that new stuff is continuing to come out for FF7.

Must be translation problems. Although it does piss me off that we get it like half a year after they do (we should get it a month after).
 You know this is because Sony and Square Enix hates America right? That's why they're keeping the KH Final Mix games, and the Crisis Core bundle to themselves.

I think the late release date is mostly because it takes time to localize these games, particurally as more and more dialogue is spoken rather than just text. It takes time not only to translate from English to Japanese correctly (although I will say that a lot of times they shift meaning around in their localization process, as seen in the FF7 Advent Children movie with the "Dilly Dally Shilly Shally" changes in dialogue). But they have to hire the voice talent and such, not to mention marketing. Back when Advent Children came out, I beleive it was a year and a half before the English version finally was released, because of some difficulties with translation and scheduling, while Dirge of Cerebus only took about 4 months to be translated and released outside Japan.


Off topic Edit: In case anyone got confused to what I was referring to with the "Dilly dally shilly shally" reference because they rely only on subtitles when watching the original Japanese dialogue the English DVD did the bad practice of using "Dub-titles" on the Region 1 disc. This means that the localization team used the Dub's script for the subtitles, the dialogue changes are being treated as to what the characters are saying (Most obvious at the beginning of the movie... in the Original Japanese version, at one point Elena calls Tseng's name, in english it's Reno's.. so it's quite odd reading a subtitle that says "Reno" when she's clearly saying "Tseng".

Crisis Core is worth the 1.7GB it consumes on the duo stick... i recently got the game and i must say ITS AWESOME!!! i cant understand the lang.. but its pretty straight forward.. i only played about an hour so far... cant wait for the american release.... if you have a psp with CFW i suggest you get it and enjoy!
